Is dangerously addictive, almost impossibly deep, and is a truly marvellous management spectacle.

It is also frustrating beyond words, often truly ridiculous and is a cause of premature mental instability.

I love Football Manager '05

how do you people get teams like west ham and stirling so good

can i get this straight - do your players improve at the end of each season ( stats going up )

- does your team always go through bad spells

- buy players easy

well on my season with man united i managed to get henry, lampard and terry

but i won the league by 10 points and i got to the final of the champions league

i was the top scorers in the league

i got beaten in the semi final of fa cup

and i got beaten in the semi final of carling cup

also i won the community shield

yes i know these are all good things but guess what

I GOT SACKED!

i am man united

currently 1st in the league

i only qualified in the champs league because of away goals

i have sold many players, yet bought fantastic additions to my squad

my line up is 4 - 1 - 2 - 1 - 2 i have 2 players per position

1. Howard / Van Der Sar

2. G. Neville / P. Neville
3. Terry / Brown
4. Ferdinand / Silvestre
5. Heinze / O'Shea

6. Ronaldo / Park
7. Lampard / Keane
8. Ballack / Fletcher
9. Scholes / Giggs

10. Van Nistelrooy / Rooney
11. Henry / Saha

you may wonder how i have henry and terry

but i swarred them both

and gave money

thanks

Got Stirling promoted with little trouble, but damn, are they ever in a financial pickle. They're just about making a profit each month, and have just came out of the red, thanks to one old player they sold having a 25% sell on clause.

The top wage I can offer any player though is £130 a week. I was dead cert to go down according to the bookies, and my assistant manager said the squad needed improving in all areas. I'm currently 5th - in February, and a good 12-15 points clear of the relegation places. Managed to bring in 4 young players on loan, who are fantastic. Also, my star striker has gone from being valued at £12000 to £50000 - but I'm going to try to hang on to him.

Not sure I'll ever get promotion though, with only one team going up. My reputation is still obscure though - I need a decent cup run, then I might be able to get a job with one of the Premier League teams, or go across to a low level in another counrty.

I like playing as Stirling though, as when playing the matches, I see 'Stirling tactics' in the corner, which I see as a compliment!

DC United sacked me mid-way through the second season. I had trouble bringing in new players until about a month before, and the team had started to click, but every time we drew or lost one of the teams below us would go above us, leaving me always in 4th or 5th.

Was unemployed for a long time - 4 months or so, when Airdrie Utd offered me a job in December. They were 9th, of 10, with a wage bill highre than they could afford. I sold two popular players, and offered the whole team smaller contracts, and it got us out of financial trouble, but still couldn't offer high enough wages to even attract players currently in Scottish league 1 (Airdrie are Scottish 2nd) Managed to get them up to 5th, and still had an outside chance of making the second promotion spot when Stirling Albion offered me a job. They too were in Scottish 2nd, but in second place. I took the job With four games to go, three of which are at home, I have a good chance of promotion - but the two teams beneath me both have a game in hand, and are only one and two places below, respectively.

Worse still, my first game in charge at Stirling is at home against my old team Airdrie.

Mental. Great fun though.
