Their new songs and video are awesome, what do you'll who like Slipknot think. And for those of you that come in here just to badmouth them and attempt to sl*g us for liking them. . . pathetic.
Besides, do you really think Slipknot or Metallica have a say in how much HMV sell their records for? I don't know the details but I can't see them having anything to do with the financial side after the recording contract's been signed.

It's more likely that the slipknot one will sell a large amount on its opening week(s) as the core fans buy it and possible more casual fans as it'll be getting more exposure on the shop floor. It'll shift more units.
The Metallica one has been out for a while, and is a more "specialist" buy.
Take my Meat Beat Manifesto albums for a start. Not one under 16 quid. Nine Inch Nails "And all that could have been" special edition, with the acoustic bonus album. 23.99.
23.99!
I paid 12 for it first time around on its release week.

I just heard yesterday that Morrissey, of the anti-Thatcherite anti-establishment, anti-capitalist movement is making a massive forture from screwing over students with his property developments.
Nice to see hard cash getting in the way of a persons principles. ;)
Slipknot are.
They're a capitalist band performing in a capitalist world. If they had no interest in the money, they'd make sure they sell their albums cheap enough so that they only break even, only perform live if the ticket and memorabilia sales break even, they would only use what money they need to survive.
But no, their drive, as is the drive of most others doing their job, is to make money.
I don't enjoy playing it at all, you know. Not one little bit.
