Their new songs and video are awesome, what do you'll who like Slipknot think. And for those of you that come in here just to badmouth them and attempt to sl*g us for liking them. . . pathetic.
Not because of the masks, or their image.
Just because I despise there music.
And, yes, my opinion is the only onne that matters, because it is MY opinion.
Made me chuckle anyway.

I think that's pretty obvious. ;)

Where's Will Young?
Christ! And I thought I was out of touch with the pop music genre...
I just hope they all live up to that amazingly happy Slipknot classic that goes by the name of 'People = Sh*t'.
Where's Hear'Say now? Where's Will Young? Where's Girls Aloud? Where's that fat one from the latest one?
If you can't make it by yourself, it seems that going on a television show ain't going to do much good either.
I mean look at Simon Cowell, he makes some crappy singer on Pop Idol and signs them onto his label, then he makes as much money out of them as he can before the next series starts. Then you hardly ever hear from the singer again, but Simon has filled his bank account with the money made from their 'careers'.
That's the main reason why I don't like Pop Idol, it is ALL about the money, not the music.

Edgy, I think you must realise it's a lot more complex than that... You can't just set a price for an album that will just let you break even or make just enough to survive. You don't know how many copies the album will sell, so you don't know what price you'll have to set the CD at so you break even. Also, the record label pays the band and sells their CD. And then HMV/Virgin/etc. jack the price up based on what consumers are willing to pay for the CD. Again, with live gigs, you don't know until you start selling tickets how many will go, so if they set the price so the venue would have to sell out for them to break even they could end up with losses and then they'd have to break up (if it happened over the course of a whole tour so they ran out of money...)
Yes, I agree any band will be hoping to make money. But just because they would like to make money from music, doesn't mean that's the only factor (or even main factor) for them creating music. Many bands are happy making enough money to survive on, but if they suddenly got hugely popular, they're not going to suddenly change everything just so they don't make too much profit are they? And similarly, if they just break even, where does the money for them to survive on? Some bands go on tours for huge stretches (one UK band, Capdown, I believe played something like 250-300 shows in a year, thats what, one show every day for about 9 months?), so if they don't make some money, how do they pay the mortgage, buy food, pay for transport and other everyday costs?
