Mine came earlier, just been playing it until it crashed my Cube (which hasn't happend in about a year, but never mind).

Very weird to play this after Resi 4, I don't think you couldn't get two shooting games any more different from each other.

So far:

+ Lots of humour and little touches which made me smile
+ More Captain Ash
+ Looks and sounds alot better with alot more speech
+ The stats & character gallery are back, with some old favourites
+ Intimidatingly huge amount of Challenges etc. to do
+ Doesn't look like EA have messed around with FRD's game.

- Couple of framerate slowdowns
- Pathetically weak and short opening level (the demo level)
- I seem to be crap at Arcade league.

The opening Story Level is a let down, specially since the beginning of TSP2 threw you into the sublime Siberia level. But the next level is far better. And has Captain Ash who is hilarious :)

Oh, and in the extras section you can see the credits, which has Cortez going all Saturday Night Fever on a mirror-balled dance floor. The sign on the wall says "The Big Tipper". :D

Oh really? Heh, it was actually 3 characters, my bad. Two for Co-Op story completion, and one for all golds in challenges.

I'm going to make a few maps this week, I'm round a mates house (5 of us :)) from thursday-saturday this week, so I want to have a load of maps ready by then. We've already had great fun with the current levels, so I can't wait to suprise them.

I'm glad I have a Memory Card 1019, too.

So ... quite a few people have said they've only got a few characters left, how did you manage the Arcade League thief against the Zombie monkeys?

Is there a spec. tactic or not? I managed 20 but that's my highest. Is damn frustrating :@

Mind you, gone 3 days without any Splitters so I'll try again soon

I made my first 2 maps today. One was pure deathmatch (with a buggy, natch). It's excellent if I do say so myself, a little reminiscent of Stack in design. That was the best multiplayer level ever.
I also made an Assault level with 3 phases. You gotta press a switch to open a door, press 2 switches to open the next door, drive some buggies through a trench type thing, and then destroy "the secret stash" aka a box, which is hidden inside a fortress. Works perfectly with different respawns for each stage and everything. The map maker is excellent. I might have a bash at making a Single Player mission if I have the time.

The only arcade league level I was having problems with was the Zones level in the VR place, but after working out a tactic it wasn't hard at all.

This game is all about tactics, tactics, tactics. I only have 2 characters left, in 11 hrs of play. :)

Argh.

Arcade League matches on Zeppellin where you re-spawn the other side of the bloody place to everyone else. Annoying.

Have 4 teams to make it seem more chaotic and less fixed. :)

I don't like it at all. Especially on the Zeppellin because it's massive.
