God was used to explain the unexplainable but now we understand some of the unexplainable. We no longer need God like our ancesters. All we need is hope...
Human nature is destruction and the only thing that we should hope for is that we do not destroy the beautiful planet on which we live. We do not deserve the gifts we have but maybe one day we will be truely gateful for them...
To be honest, this Jésus fella seems pretty petty as well, wouldn't you say?
So Jesus' love IS conditional... thanks for clearing that one up, Forest.
If God sees sin at the judgement you will not be allowed into His sinless Heaven. If He does not see sin, you are allowed in. The only way to be cleansed from sin is to believe in the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.
I do quite fancy answers to these quick quizzlers at some stage, Forest.
Ta.
Light's already made mention of one of the points before: Jesus' love is unconditional, am I right? You can get it on condition of accepting it, yes?
And is God really so self-obsessed and petty as to only allow this 'perfection' after death to those who accept his son into their lives? Sorry if you really do exist, Almighty G, but that's pathetic. Why would I want to exist, in whatever form it is we're meant to be, for the entirety of eternity alongside people who I don't agree with?
"Heaven for the climate, Hell for the people," as the saying goes, I guess.
> Death, which is thought of as a bad thing here on earth is the

Paul in the Bible uses exactly the same logic. As a Christian, I live my life to serve the Lord, but when I die, Heaven awaits, that's the reward for walking in the narrow path that leads to Eternal Life.
"For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21
> Well where did the world come from in your eyes FF?
I can sum it up in the first ten words of the Bible, though the rest of Genesis provides a useful account of the Creation and early events in history.
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Genesis 1:1
> I like the idea of
> not knowing what happened to begin with and not happening when it all
> ends.
Again, Genesis says how it all happened, with the Big Word and books like Daniel and Revelation tell how it is all going to end. The final doom of the world, will be to be burned with holy fire.
The fact we are in the End Times, should act as a wake-up call, to accept Jesus, because His wrath is coming soon.
> Where's the fun with sticking to a pattern and having you past,
> present and future being wrote out before you've lived your life?
Well, I didn't quite find my name in the Bible, but Jesus has the spirit of prophecy and so does God and He is warning us that we are in the end times. On the point of Creation, there is an interesting verse...
"If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?" Psalm 11:3
Creation and the account is so important to Christians today, because without it, we are denying the very power of God.
> An explosion (which usually kills life) creating life, some logic...
Death, which is thought of as a bad thing here on earth is the entrance to a higher place? Some logic.
