Pretty sweet RPG so far, only a couple of hours in. Haven't quite seen why so many people have been fapping like porn monkeys over it yet but have been told by plenty you are no-where near scratching the surface of it yet (which I can believe by the sheer size of it so far).
Chose to be a Dwarf in the end, a Warrior Dwraf with possibly the ugliest face ever. Kicks ass in battle, spent ages at the opening of Dragonmaw fighting the wolves and troggs to level up a bit. One thing that is decent is that everyone who I have come across so far has been pretty helpful and not even slightly c*ck faced.
Interface is sweet, the layout was easy enough to get to grips with after the initial "this is just one area, wtf?!". The environments make Lisa Riley's mu*f saddle looking like a toddler's paddling pool.
Controls are easy, the magic areas aren't even slightly geeky from what I have come across so far, just drag it onto the bar and click it when you need it. Haven't really bought much yet but that too seems simple enough to use and from what I gather it nails other MMORPG's for its less geeky approach. For a first time MMORPG'er' I have founs it fack easy to get into and nothing like what I expected (only in a good way though).
Visually it is sweet, the soundtrack is awesome, the presentation is spot on etc etc *fap fap*
Wish I didn't have work tomorrow but life's a b*tch!
Honour system sucks, yes.
Ashenvale rocks though.
Constant battling for the area rules.
Surely it's more dishonorable to kill a low level player who stands no chance than it is some generic faceless guy who's going to respawn in a couple of minutes anyway.Oh well, by the time my level is high enough to stand a chance in PVP/Battlegrounds, it should have all been sorted out for the better :)
Who gives a flying feck if you kill low level npcs and civilians anyway?
Saturday was really just an exploration session.
Flew up to Menethil, saw Grix and Froots on the boat, ran through Dustwallow Marsh, suprisingly didn't get attacked once by the huge spiders and gators there!
Then I ended up in the Barrens. I'd been North and West before, so thought I'd venture south. Managed to stealth away from a few Horde that would have royally shafted me without lube, found myself by the lifts to Thousand needles. Took one guard out and stealthed past the other, legged it through TN, Shimmering Flats to Gadgetzan. Wow, fighting everywhere down there! I was left alone luckily. got the Gryphon flight path then Hearthstoned back to Westfall.
Next I took a trip up the Wetlands, through Arathi, getting another Gryphon route at the refugee(?) point, took a look around Stromgarde, leading a level?? Tauren into the Alliance Guards just round the corner.
Up through Hillsbrad, another Gryphon route, then met up with some German guy who showed me how to get to Brill and access the Zeppelin. This is where I got my Honorable kill :D Loads of newbies waiting for the Zep and not bothering us, then one guy thinks he can take us on. Hits me once, I moonfire him repeatedly until he's on critical health, he jumps off to get away, thus falling to his death :D
Took the Zep to outside Orgrimmar then left for the day.
Logging back on yesterday, I managed to prowl back onto the Orgrimmar Zep station while the guard was chasing a Boar. Took the wrong bloody Zep and ended up in Grom'Gol! Luckily I didn't get killed, but watched a lvl37 Paladin try his luck against the entire camp :D
Got back on the Zeppelin and some ?? Warlock feared the hell out of me and it crashed me out of the game :(
I logged back in to end up at the Stranglethorn Graveyard.
It was fun :)
The Honor System is crap though. Only get dishonorable kills for killing low-level NPCs? How stupid.
I love this game
Before at least the majority used to ignore you, now if you are in contested territory you are screwed. Really sucky part of the update for me.
Also growing on my boobs - enemies re-generating health just before they die. Thankfully as a Warrior at least you get the shield hit to stop spell casting for 6 seconds, if you miss it though its panties down - wave to the crowd time.
Other than that best game ever - after Shenmue of course :)
