Pretty sweet RPG so far, only a couple of hours in. Haven't quite seen why so many people have been fapping like porn monkeys over it yet but have been told by plenty you are no-where near scratching the surface of it yet (which I can believe by the sheer size of it so far).
Chose to be a Dwarf in the end, a Warrior Dwraf with possibly the ugliest face ever. Kicks ass in battle, spent ages at the opening of Dragonmaw fighting the wolves and troggs to level up a bit. One thing that is decent is that everyone who I have come across so far has been pretty helpful and not even slightly c*ck faced.
Interface is sweet, the layout was easy enough to get to grips with after the initial "this is just one area, wtf?!". The environments make Lisa Riley's mu*f saddle looking like a toddler's paddling pool.
Controls are easy, the magic areas aren't even slightly geeky from what I have come across so far, just drag it onto the bar and click it when you need it. Haven't really bought much yet but that too seems simple enough to use and from what I gather it nails other MMORPG's for its less geeky approach. For a first time MMORPG'er' I have founs it fack easy to get into and nothing like what I expected (only in a good way though).
Visually it is sweet, the soundtrack is awesome, the presentation is spot on etc etc *fap fap*
Wish I didn't have work tomorrow but life's a b*tch!
Got my Hunter up to level 38 yesterday, hit the 40G mark as well in my hunt to have a mount by this weekend. Spent most of the last couple of days in Stranglethorn although questing there is just a total pain in the ass mainly due to the cheapo Horde Rogues who just hide and then sap you when you aren't expecting it, wish Blizzard would even up the Rogue class for PVP action, as it stands the balance is crazy if you don't see them until late, makes the Rogue class look really cheap.
Was going to crack on with Arathi Highlands last night but after wandering into Stormgrade I realised that I was surrounded by level 35 Elites which means muchly sore anal glands if I attempt a killing spree. Going to stick around in Stranglethorn until I have my mount and some decent mail armour, after that I think I will head off to the Scarlet Monastery which supposedly has some really sweet loot.
With regards to Contribution Points - what the hell are they? Is this calculated on how many times you hit an enemy? I gathered when I saw a guy with 325 kills yet was still rank Private that it didn't go on the number of kills. One other thing on this matter I would like to know is whether or not it is based on how many Contribution points you get in a single session/week as opposed to overall. 10% discount would come in handy when spending 72G on a mount.
I got demoted from grunt back to scout, i need more levels before i get back into the fight though, im just shooting myself in the foot at the moment.
EDIT: Also, ranks are not determined by HKs. It's contribution points you have to count, the exact figures for which i don't know.
Managed to pick myself up 20 kills along with 5-6 ?? kills with the help of 4-5 others. Also even at level 33 I was about 15 HP off killing a level 38 Tauren, with the pet my Hunter is a pretty decent force when it comes to PVP.
What is the next rank up from Private and how many HK do you need for it? Am I right in thinking you get a discount on a Mount the higher the rank you are?
Oh the irony... especially when I lose it and smash the keys when they laugh.
