Or God for that matter. He made us in His image and the earliest Humans were from Asia, so they must have been yellow/brown/whatever skinned. Yet, every Bible printed, every religious image in the Western world shows him as a white man. Why is that? Do you think it could be some subtle form of manipulation for us Honkys? The whole region of Bethlehem, Jerusalem, etc., is in the Middle East area, and I don't see no white folk about. Could it be that the Bible my old school gave me and forced me to learn from was lying to me?

My personal favourite theory, that explains everything about the man called Jesus, is that he was a time-traveller. Think about it. Some mystical bloke, giving it all "that" with extra sass - I'd be pretty lairy if I'd just time-travelled. Healing the sick with modern and future medicine. And he's white. The first time-traveller (if the End of Days hasn't come like you're cheerily predicting) will probably be some white-bred American bloke, so he'll be well-versed in the Bible. It's a good theory, don't knock it. Expect to see the film. Soon. Starring Mark Wahlberg as Jesus. And William Shatner as God. Probably.

jesus was a jew so therefore he was of palistinan colour. The long term belief that jesus was white is through the english crusaders who took on the christian ethos but vhnged it so god would and his son be white

Just wanted to throw in two definitions:

Soul-- 1) an entity which is regarded as being the immortal or spiritual part of the person and, though having no physical or material reality, is credited with the functions of thinking and willing, and hence determining all behavior. 2)the moral or emotional nature of a human being.

Spirit--1) the life principle, especially in man, regarded as inherent in the breath or as infused by a deity. 2) the thinking, motivating, feeling part of man, often as distinguished from the body.

These are from Webster's New World College Dictionary 3rd Edition, copyright 1997.

A yig, you mean?
Well - it's something that develops with you - and it essentially becomes you. Every moral decision I make, my thoughts and feeling about stuff all goes in there.

As well as other stuff - energy mostly (not the kind you see, obviously), so it acts as a store of strength as well - something to tap into when I'm feeling low.

Generally stuff really, which scientifically comes from the brain - but I like to see it as something different.

Bloody hell, you're stupid.
We define spirit in different ways - so, yes, I have a spirit. But from my definition of the word, not yours.

To make things simpler, I'll call it a yig.
I have a yig, you have a spirit.

Understand?

The ABILITY to have a relationship with God.

Doesn't mean you DO, just the ABILITY.

Shut up.
My spirit grew as I grew, as a direct result of my actions, the morals I developed and the decisions I made among other things. All my doing - that's me

Once again, stop shoving your God in my face, he has no place in my life.
