My girlfriend recently asked me why I cut myself. I replied

"Because I have knowledge of things I cannot change."

It's quite profound, but that is why I cut myself. To let out anger. I don't cut deep, but enough to bleed. I sent my qoute to a self-harm website, to use on there front page but they ignored it. Shame, I really think it can help people understand why they are harming (cutting, burning etc) themselves.

Hopefully someone will find it useful.

If you have ever spoken to someone who was self harming you would realise that maybe it's not just a cry for help but rather something which helps them. I'm not going to say I agree with it but sometimes people have pain inside which they have no way of expressing, so they cut themselves to help transfer one type of pain into another.

When people are angry or upset they cope in a different way to the next person. Some people lash out, some people write about it, others bottle it up until it all comes out at once. But somepeople cut themselves, it's just a way of coping and all the people who think it's silly will think that unless they have been through it themselves and will not understand why people self harm.

The rule of thumb is no-one is above the law, so I think the doctor would testify. I could say it was a hypothetical sit. and get a lesser sentence.

I'm unsure, and couldn't take an educated guess. You would have to someone in the field I guess.

If the doctor knows I have intent to cause harm to the person that did this (I nearly have his house phone), will he inform the police? Will he give evidence if I am caught?

Trolling

"An Internet "troll" is a person who delights in sowing discord on the Internet. He (and it is usually he) tries to start arguments and upset people.

Trolls see Internet communications services as convenient venues for their bizarre game. For some reason, they don't "get" that they are hurting real people. To them, other Internet users are not quite human but are a kind of digital abstraction. As a result, they feel no sorrow whatsoever for the pain they inflict. Indeed, the greater the suffering they cause, the greater their 'achievement' (as they see it). At the moment, the relative anonymity of the net allows trolls to flourish."

If this isn't you, apologies.

As to help anonymously, call the Samaritans. Talk to them, and then think seriously about seeing someone face to face. You'll both keep your anonymity outside of the doctor / patient situation.

If you are not trolling here, get some help. Please. Both of you. Don't turn into the damaged people my ex has became due to her spiteful hatred of anyone who tried to help her.
