I dont hate any country, I do however have a severe dislike for some people in them.

As for living arrangements, I wouldn't want to live anywhere but here in Dublin. I love living here.

And this makes it okay? The best you can do is "well they're doing it as well"? They have to do it because it is the continued policy of this labour government in how it chooses to use funds.

And how many towns have beaches? Do I care? Does the majority of the nation? I doubt it, round here they can't even keep the park clean...Air? We have the cleaner air due to less industy, various acts of parliament and international treaties...very little to do with Council tax.

Wow, 1000 eh? You forget to mention the other changes, which would get more existing police officers onto the street because they'd be doing less paperwork or passing some duties onto other people.

Well I don't know about that, but I'd wager that only the most ardent labour supporters in the country would believe that...

He means he is happy with the anti-terrorist powers his force has. As in the Police force. Sociology eh? The problem is that I suspect you've not finished the course and that the "society is to blame" answer is but one of many...for starters it's from the liberal viewpoint of society.

You're doing what course again????

If you have no government then a different kind of society is created, a non-western one for starters, without laws or controls it becomes little more than the rule of the strong minority of the weaker majority.

Sorry but they do, except Mr Blair doesn't want to see that link to his government in a forthcoming election period.

Council tax was setup under a government, hence it can be removed by government as the poll tax was. Council tax is the main way local councils generate revenue for services - because central government doesn't want to spend more than it has to on them.

Under the council tax you could have 6 people in a house and they'd pay, in total, the same as 1 person living in the same size house. Even the poll tax was actually fairer to people, and look what finally happened in that example...

You'll also find central government has the power to cap tax rises, but doesn't, despite the promise it would do so where councils had excessive rises.
