They dont. From Amazon:

Gift certificates must be redeemed at our website, towards the purchase of products listed in Amazon.co.uk's online catalogue sold by Amazon.co.uk or Amazon Jersey. They cannot be redeemed at Amazon.com, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.ca, Amazon.co.jp or at any of Amazon.co.uk's Marketplace, Auctions or zShop stores or at any of Amazon.co.uk's Trusted Partner sites.

Never really been told myself! Will have a look into that, I also don't know if Amazon.co.uk vouchers work for amazon.com, shouldn't see why they wouldn't, but maybe that's why?! Investigate I shall...

What would this place be without you Ladybird? I do like you and your posts :)

Unfortunately not, the person who is in charge of that was rather bogged under today, will try and make sure it happens tomorrow though!

Yes. Well, it's easy to misread the intentions of a post, from both sides. Honestly, I didn't mean to sound harsh, quite the opposite.

But there's no point arguing, I'm sure we both have some valid points, though a good balanced arguement is good for the soul! It would be more constructive to find solutions (and I'm aware that doesn't appease your overall concern). How about: if you know someone in the UK then you could register their address and they could send the email on? I expect Freeola have an account with Amazon UK, so couldn't get Amazon US certificates sent out, so this would seem to be the best solution. You could then either buy something on Amazon UK or sort something else out. Perhaps an exchange with someone?

In the meantime, I'll leave it to the staff to explain why they only send UK certificates to UK postal addresses, rather than trying to work out reasons myself...

Just thought I'd point out that Freeola also had the "no winners from outside the UK" policy right from the start, Celestine won as an exception rather than a rule.

Doesn't mean that I don't agree with you though ;)
In fact I think it could easily be sorted out, and should be.

I always thought it was only UK residents who could win as they posted out the GAD's - suppose that now it is possible to send voucher codes via e-mail then it could be changed.

Although do amazon vouchers work on both amazon.co.uk and .com?
