Alright I'm going to give one a try and I've seen them on videogamesplus.ca for around £195 with a hockey game and you have to order another one as part of the deal as they are in demand. I was thinking Ridge Racers and getting Wipeout soon but thats on back order with them. What do I need to charge it with? Best place to get one? Also am I likely to get stung on tax? Tell me what I need and what I don't as I'm a total newbie as far as the PSP goes.

Yeah its ok, was playing it online and getting whooped as it was my first go :D

I would say Lumines is a good game to get as the puzzle elements and game play are addictive. Twisted Metal is also a class game with online play.

Havent heard any reports of the battery life being better. The same is said about the introduction of Samsung screens instead of Sharp. Everyone was saying that the US ones are built in China, well if thats the case why is mine got Made In Japan on the back and the US box has the PSP is made in Japan also.

Battery life varies from game to game, and depending if the Wi-Fi is in use, screen brightness and speaker volume. If you use min brightness, no sound, no Wi-Fi and use the UMD drive very little you can get 8-10 hours out of it. I have been using mine alot on the mains, and have probably had the PSP running under its own battery for about 4 hours. Have had Wi-Fi on, Brightness to the max and volume off or around half, and I have 42% left on the 1st charge.

The Value pack as the 32Mb card which is needed(unless you already have a Duo stick) as the PSP has no memory of its own to save data. GBax basically misinform you of what your getting as I emailed them about this DVD Remote etc. Basically there telling you of what you get with the PSP.

So in a standard Jap Value pack you get

PSP
Battery
32Mb Memory Stick Duo card
Carry Case
Charger and power adaptor
Headphones
Remote Control for Headphones
Manuals

And the US one you get a cleaning cloth(well need :D) as well, and at the moment Spider-Man 2 UMD movie.

The charger can except any figure of 8 cable, so no need to get an adaptor especially if you already have some spare cables.

Has anyone played Gretzky PSP then? I want to know if it's worth my while, because with only Wipeout and MGA as must-gets (for me), it doesn't look that good a console right now.

And there was reports that the battery life had doubled (or significantly improved) from the initial PSPs shipped in Japan, upping the batt. life to 8hrs. Any confirmation on this?

Well it is comming from Canada with a courier and within 3 days. For my PSP with 2 games(3 in total with Gretzky) it cost £250 inc del, £35 was for del so to be honest not too bad. Ebay users are charging about £30-40 in most cases for Del.

GBax offer the Jap version and not the US version. No difference really apart from you dont get the Spider-Man 2 UMD. Also the price on the site is ex VAT so including VAT you are paying £276 inc Del for a Jap PSP and a Jap version of Ridge Racer. Where as with somewhere like VGP you could get the US value pack with Gretzky and about 3 extra games for the same price.

Problem is you do hear stories of people being billed for import tax up to 3 months after. So I wouldn't count your chickens yet ;)

What are GBAX like Bullett? Their prices seem around the same as Importmadness and they are in Newcastle so I won't get stung with import tax and it could be with me next day.

Also do I need the extra 32mb in the value pack? Is it worth getting it for extra remote etc? Because SR claim it has 32mb memory built in? Will this allow me to save or do I need an additional card?

Always best to ask them, though I think they just do it anyway - a couple of things I've ordered and not asked to be marked, have come marked regardless.

Cheers for the help. So if I get it from VGP should I email them asking for it to be marked as a gift?
