In terms of battery life, I must admit I haven't pushed it to extremes or done definitive tests, but I know for a fact I'm getting over 2-3 hours play on high brightness and mid-75% volume. It also appears I may have 1 tiny dead pixel, but when the game actually kicks in and all the colours come into play, it seems to dissapear - I'd say it's more of a lazy pixel :D
GBAX.com are friendly and efficient, but pricey - Importmadness are cheaper than VGC. When I preordered, I got free 2 Day courier shipping with the purchase of airmail (about $7-10? can't remember). I really would recommend IM as long as you don't rely on their customer service.
Didn't enjoy the DS as much as you thought? Me neither - it's turned into a novelty console that has now been gathering dust for a Month or two, even though the UK launch has been and gone. You will enjoy the PSP - I'm sure you will.

Adrian - you have a link to this tunnelling software? I'd love to try Twisted Metal online once it arrives :D
Twisted Metal is cool, basically like the others really so if you enjoyed them you will like this. Areas are big from what I have played and control is pretty good.
> Huh? You were playing it online??? Is this through a cable connection,
> or wireless?
Wireless. I knew they had Ad-Hoc (Other PSPs in the same area) but though internet play was done by PC software(Tunnelling) to fool the PSP thinking it was over a LAN. But both Twisted Metal and Gretzky Hockey have online modes where you connect to a lobby. I was amazed as I didnt know these games had these features and didnt find them till the day after I got my PSP. Not all games have this function though so people are using Tunnelling software to play them.
Also Wipeout has a secret Web Browser so people have set up portals for you to connect to and surf the net on the PSP and even talk on IRC.
> So you got a PSP (US) + 3 games for £250? Or was that minus the
> del? Was that on ebay?
Nope VGP, but 3 games includes the free Gretzky game which I do not want really, but have played a little, and also includes Del. Going to be getting Need For Speed, Ridge Racer and Wipeout soon for about £85(£28 per game) including del.
I think my PSP does have 1 dead pixel, but it has some marks on the screen, bubbles to be more accurate. They really only show when its off so no big deal, plus once your in a game there gone anyway.
PSPs are know for dead pixels and screen bumps so its no big deal in a way as with some people getting PSPs with 10+ dead pixels I am a lucky owner.
The faults people are reporting are not covered by Sony, so some shops arent taking them back while others are. Most UK importers will only swap for a min of 3 dead pixels, but they dont cover screen bumps/bubbles like I have so even with a UK importer you wouldnt be know better off.
The reports weren't that recent, about Janauary or Feb I think. It mentioned a switchover to longer lasting cells for the battery, and as you mentioned the change in manufacturer. If there's no difference in tech. specs, then it really doesn't matter.
