Had a hearing test done today as part of my hospital regime, and all is not well. My one hearing ear is deteriorating quite rapidly. The norm in a good ear is a hearing range of about 20-20,000Hz, six weeks ago it was about 250-20,000Hz in my ear with background noise, today it was about 450-20,000Hz. I've lost a range of 200Hz in just 6 weeks! You can do the maths.

For anyone who wants a sort of off-set, a middle C on a piano is about 260Hz.

Can't you use your student loan to pay for the new impant? Think of it as a "sound" investment for the future.

I'm sorry

Ah Hell, I would do that too. What's a girl to do with money other than blow it all on junk? Bout time I did something useful with it too.

I have signed up for a sign language and lipreading class though, the lip reading should come in really useful. I have to convince my close friends to learn sign language too though, not an easy task

It's a lovely thought Kyle, but my hearing has to be gone before the operation could even be considered, and that could take 10 years, by which stage I could be too old for the operation.

Thanks though.
