Being able to play the PSone Final Fantasy games is a damn critical feature if you ask me...

You rmissing the point though, as a games console the Cube is leagues ahead of the rest. All the PS2 offers outside of a few decent exclusive titles is a huge back log of crap titles, a poor DVD player and a novelty feature to play PSONE games. How many people actually use the PSONE feature is anyones guess.

This is probably the most intelligent topic in General Chat for a while. Until I go and spoil things with this post, d'oh!

I didn't use to agree with that but I do now. A top end PC can play all online games, the majority are free to play and free to mod but not only that but offline for the PC is far stronger than the Xbox.

Knights of the Old Republic is actually better on the PC so the Xbox only has a very small few titles now that aren't on other platforms. I honestly thought LIVE would take off and offline would drastically improve this year, so far though I have been proved very wrong.

*notices original topic*

If you have to choose one then go for PS2 unless you really want online gaming badly.

Why PS2?

Massive back catalogue
Play PS1 classic
Plenty of cheap games
Can, with extra disc, play all region dvds
Piles of exclusive games
Massive variety of games for all tastes

Really it comes down to your taste in games and you should decide yourself based on what games you enjoy. Maybe write down which games you like/want on each console, choose the one with the biggest list.

All three are good but, and fanboys take note, I feel Xbox is a waste of time for those who can't or don't want to play online all the time. PS2's inferior but more relaxed approach suits me fine

Offline, Xbox sucks, except for KOTOR. GC rules offline multi and offline in general.

Live is good me hears, although I'm not bothered with it. And I can't get it.

GC is just better.

If you prefer multiplayer over single player I'd suggest Xbox.

If not then I'd suggest the GC.

I haven't played on my GC since christmas, that's how good live is.

But then, you might want to get a Gamecube for MGS...

You don't need any other reason to get an Xbox than Live.

I rarely play offline now.
