On Saturday, a childhood hero of mine - David Rocastle - died of a form of cancer. He was 33.

My best friend's dad also died from cancer a few years ago.

I also fear cancer because, though I've never smoked, I grew up with two parents who were heavy smokers; my mum has since given up, but my dad continues to smoke reasonably heavily.

Now all of us with PC's or Mac's have a chance to assist in finding a cure for this disease.

Go to this URL:

...and download the software. It runs in your computer's spare cycles and analyses potential cures for cancer.

All other relevant info can be found on the site.

If anyone is interested in joining it, I have created a team called 'Special Reserve Forum Regulars'.

Just to let people know, you have to let the program run continuously, i thought if i put mine on snooze, and then shut down my computer, it would work. But it doesnt. It has to run non-stop until its finished, so my computer will be on for about the next month then......

Unless im looknig at the wrong screen, is it the page with the diagram of the molecule on that tells you how far you've got, or the main page with the timer on?

Both work and home are Intel P3-500 with 128Mb RAM and a stack of HD space.

Yes, it should upload everything when it gets to 100%, and then download another set for processing.

Ive got an AMD K6-2 400Mhz, what does this program need? A 5GHz Monster or something?!?!?!?

Does it upload all the information when it reaches 100%?

It never got off zero! it was running for qabout 3 hours stayed on 0%, my computers a bit slow you see.

I rebooted and the program started autoamtically with windows, the time had gone back to zero, and the task execution is still on zero as well.

What do i do when i want to shut down my computer?

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Many thanks!!
Registered my website with Freeola Sites on Tuesday. Now have full and comprehensive Google coverage for my site. Great stuff!!
