Can i get a new motherboard and processor, and just replace the current ones i have, because my PC is slow, and it needs to go faster. Is this possible because i have no idea what to do inside a pc, other than install PCI cards. Any help will be appreciated.

If i was going to build you a pc from scratch i would first of all ask you exactly what you will be doing on it (i.e Surfing the net, word processing and maybe some gaming), then i would spec you up something that would be suitable for your exact needs instead of getting something that is extremely top end and not using it to it's full capabilitys as that would be a waste of money and pc, Also you would have to consider the functionality you are looking for (i.e Firewire, SATA, 8 USB 2 etc), although that pc that taka has spec'd up for you is good spec i thing it would not be for you as you do not seem to be a performance of hobbie pc enthusiast who always need the top things no matter the cost (like me :) ).

I would agree, and Maxx PCs are much better than Dell or similar.

Even your 'normal' machine rapes chickens for fun. Something like a Maxx PC is going to suit the poster a lot more, considering he's been tooling around with a K6 for years. Even a Thunderbird is going to feel like a Ferrari to him.

I've just noticed an amendment that I would make to that list, I would change the case to a CoolerMaster Praetorian PAC-T01-EK instead of the wave master, as the front door on the wave master means that the HD coolers would be useless :S

The thing with alienware is you are paying for the brand name, the case (I have to say they are my favioute looking case out there), and the support, which you don't get with a homemade (can cause alot of headaches in some situations).

I was quoting a state of the art. You could get a decent hand build for about £1500 with a TFT etc

Or substitute for your preferred manufacturer. You could do an awful lot worse than buy one of SR's Maxx's:

In that case, I strongly advise you to either get a DELL or build yourself up a much cheaper system than Taka is recommending.

Taka-Q, what you listed there proves that Alienware are a rip-off.

My mate bought an Alienware PC for 3 grand, and it's ar$e is well and truly burned by that set-up.

Ah, no. I'm gonnna keep this one, because either me or my dad spend long periods of time on the PC and it'd be nice if we didn't have to nag at each other all the time.
