So, this honor system? I've been reading the WoW forums, I can't post there for some reason, my login isn't accepted... Anyway, I have to say, it's re-iterated my belief that people online are 95% moronic. You get some people moaning and wanting to quit, others going 'it's pvp!!!!' and a few with brains in the middle being a bit rational.
I have been killed many times. I have been over powered by level ?? in groups, when I've been by myself. I've been fighting 2/3 monsters, and had a level 40 come up and help himself. I've had people see me, run off and come back with help.
They are whining at Blizzard on the forums. They seem to think their behaviour is entirely justified because Blizzard haven't done things exactly right. They're idiots. I want to play PvP - I realise that the world is a world of war. That does not excuse people being morons who have no notion of fun except their own geek needs. I KNOW it's a war - but for gods sake, it's also a game.
I like pvp - I've had some great fun. It'd just be nice if people would just stop for a second and realise that they are ruining it at times. I've got really annoyed (as guild members can testify ;) ) at idiots just ruining my game because they need to kill a player many levels below them, or they need to gang up and attack because they get 1 HK. I spared several lower levels today because I know how annoying it is - and when a horde starts on me, I give as good as I get, obviously, and often better, because I rule :D
I think this sums it up best - earlier, up in Arathi, I come across a same level Tauren fighthing a high level mob. I help kill it, and he runs off. I wave and go about my business. Half dead from fighting another 1/2, I could of done without him coming back and killing me. Idiots. Anyway, it's pvp, you can't expect everyone to be half witted.....AND people say 'oh ganking's fun!'. Erm, how? How is it fun? Grow up and give people a chance to play the game.
Meh, rant over. And stop raiding idiots! IT DOESN'T HELP YOU!

I feel sorry for you guys on PvP servers, the game for you seems to have gone from being a safari park to a hunting ranch.
True - I like PvP, hence I chose it. I also like to quest and explore.......
At the moment the thought of PVP outweights actually doing it, so for the moment I'm abstaining. I'll defend myself, and if someone my level comes at me, then sure, why not, I pretty much always lose but it's honour and it's PVP.
Besides, I'm having more fun being my tauren, peaceful away from all the ass. Bliss. It's a great game, don't want it ruined.

Likewise, I'm perfectly happy being a Taurean at the moment.
It's tranquil, the lands are beautiful and I've just earned resurrect.

I've seen a lot of people say the same. NE and Tauren are far more similar in terms of racial characteristics than to any others. They're split into two sides for gameplay purposes....but yeah, the Tauren are hardly Horde.

I like the Tauren because I went in expected them to be a "Kill, crush, destroy" race, and find that they're actually the most peacful race out of all the horde. I love the Native American angle as well.
Also, Honour system needs revamp, it has allowed me to start a few new characters and try my hand at classes I had intrests in but previously had no time top explore, but I'm stuck with my hunter. I don't want to go out into contested areas because I know I'll be bum shafted the moment that Horde logo appears besides my name, yet am running out of money and suplies from all the constant fighting I've had in Hillsbrad, which I've long since bored of.
Oh yes, and for a dishonour system, Blizzard did have one, but for some reason it didn't seem to make it into the game. This is actually from the manual:
"-Dishonor points
Even among enemies as bitter as the Horde and Alliance, there is honor. If you flaunt this honor and engage in onjectionable PvP play, such as killing new players vastly inferior to you in level or killing essential non-combat NPC's such as flight masters or quest givers, you will earn dishonour. If you accumulate enough dishonor through your criminal actions, you will be branded an outlaw. As a consequesnce, you'll suffer experience penalties, lose access to your own faction cities and become so hated by even your own kind that every faction NPC will attack you on sight."
