So ... I didn't.
Flowers ordered for tomorrow (not roses. Cliche), and out for a meal tomorrow night.
Now all I need to do is think up a nice message to put in the damn card, but since I've had an awful day at work, I'm really NOT in the mood.
Discussion last week in the pub led me to getting the cold shoulder for days off my girlfriend and her friends.
I started off strong and set in my ways.
Principles = Fights and no sex
Whipped = Happiness and sex
Yep
Roses - being delivered
Chocolates
Card in post and I'm making one
CD
Teddy thing
And a nice bag to put it in
And she's working at 3 so she's coming round and I'm making her lunch.
And on Valentines day you feel you have to spend a load of money on your gal.
I think it's just a way for people to have an excuse to tell people they love them, nothing more than that. Commercialised, maybe, but it's not just for people in relationships.
And I'm sure a valentine's card isn't a way of saying "hello I want to have sex with you"
And for us lucky ones without partners, we can celebrate that we're all allowed to look at some random girl's cleavage without getting shouted at.
yay!
