So, if anyone's into punk/post-punk/emo/hardcore... whatever the hell you wanna label things, please chat here about music, albums, gigs, gossip and help me find some more cool bands to go see live.
I like stuff from loads of different genres, but the punk stuff I'm currently into includes Alkaline Trio, Braid, Fugazi, Minor Threat, Gorilla Biscuits, Lagwagon, NOFX, Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, Matchbook Romance, Saves The Day, Rocket From The Crypt, Jawbreaker, Lawrence Arms, Boys Night Out, Hot Water Music, The Ataris etc. etc.

Listen to United By Fate until it gets under your skin and then you will never stop. Grrrr.....
Do Lost Prophets count as punk? Surely Offspring are practically just pop now aswell?
Why do bands that people hold up as being 'punk greats' sound really boring like Greenday and Fugazi?
Surely punks more a state of mind now: Are pitchshifter punk? Are Whale punk?
What about electronic punks? Like the prodigy?
Eh eh eh?

But he started out in the Gorilla Biscuits, and they're better than all of them. 'Start Today' is possibly the finest sXe hardcore record ever made.

I'm actually going to see Cursive next week, they're supporting the Ataris. I've got one of their CDs (Ugly Organ?) but I've heard some good stuff about them. What's their best CD and I'll check it out before the gig.
The injustice!
RAR!
I need to kill something.

Woot! Ain't got a Quicksand or TISTR album, but they are cool. Need Quicksand because Schrieffels went onto make the Godly Rival Schools.
Elliott
Glassjaw
Cursive
Rival Schools
Not sure which they fit into.....Glassjaw is 'hardcore' to an extent I suppose. Elliott is emo, and the others are just class, Rival Schools especially. United By Fate is by far my favourite non-Pumpkins album.
