Boro win 2-1 against the Arsenal

Sorry Boro but I think it's Bolton's year.

lampard's the second best up to equal first. this and the next seasons will see him reach perfect maturity. vieira still works harder, makes more tackles, rallys the team more, etc.

no comparisons in goals please. one's scoring them and one's saving them :)

This excuse annoys me quite a lot. I understand what is meant by it, because I, as many others, have also used it at times. But I think that who plays in the match, is the managers choice, just as in any other game. So whether its Thierry Henry playing or Terry Henry, it is still Arsenal.

I disagree. I think Vieira has lost something since last season. I think the best centre mid in the country at the moment is Frank Lampard, and I don't really think many people would argue, he deserves and england place.

However I have been very impressed with Gilberto this term. He's looking very good at the moment.

what irritates me the most about this thread is not neo being able to gloat for once, ever. not reyes scoring an own goal. not the rubbing in of boro beating us. but two things have been said which incenses me.

1) we are not a one man team. henry not playing obviously affects us... just as much as man u would miss van. what about freddie, sol, bobby, etc. they're world class. and vieira has to be the top central mid in the premiership. pace, skills, control, tackling, stamina. yeah he gets fouls, but thats because he makes so many more tackles in a match than anyone. it's not like he had a lot to work with in our youth team.

2) the great team that wears the red and white week-in week-out didn't lose, our youngsters did. they're still learning and it was a fantastic achievement to reach the semi's of a near enough top flight cup. the young gooners did great.

reyes didnt have a weeks amnesty, but im sure he'll fit-in by the beggining of next season. anything more and im sure wenger will be delighted. he's long term and 19. the own goal had something to do with strikers instinct in the box :D

I thoroughly-enjoyed watching this game for oh-so-many reasons, on Tuesday-night. "Superstar" Reyes scoring was just the icing on the cake! :D

Middlesbrough really gave it their all, though, and deserved to win. Maccarone really should've taken his chances better, though, and BURRIED Arsénal.

It may have been "un-important" to you stuck-up, arrogant believers of whatever you read [Reyes' greatness...], but the fact is, you are one of England's biggest clubs, and, therefore have a reputation to maintain and example to set for the `smaller´ teams below you. Losing to the most-boring team in the league, though... You deserve it all for Arséne Wenger having not done his job properly (like Fergie in the West Brom game)!! :D

But, of course, our result was MONTHS-ago, now! Nobody cares about that anymore - it's seeing YOU LOT lose that really matters!! :D :P

Had Thierry Henry been playing, however; and, had it been at the L'Highbury... Things would've been very different, I reckon.

You're a lot less without him, and you're a lot less away from home, also.

I think we're all missing the true point, the excellence of that strike proves what an unbelievable prospect Arsenal have bought. The way he thundered that ball past Lehman was a think of pure beauty. If he keeps doing that, then Arsenal should be relegated in no time ;)

Yet had Saha scored an own goal on Saturday, you'd be running around the place laughing etc.

You need time to 'not' score own goals?
