On the news tonight, they used the phrase "Cannabis, a drug tens of thousands of people choose to smoke each week". I think they are seriously underestimating how widespread its use is. I wager everyone on here knows somebody who smokes it, I certainly do. Could decriminalizing the drug work in this country? There are huge benefits for the government in the way that it would free up a lot of police time, which could be used for catching those dealing/possessing harder drugs.
Is there any point whatsoever in downgrading the drug as they have done?
Do you have any views on the drug, or the questions I have asked above?
I knew a woman who had MS and she was always in constant pain. I use to see her day in day out and it hurt me to see her hurting and in pain. Then someone suggested cannabis to her, and its done her the world of good and she is so happy. She feels a little uneasy for smoking the stuff and she doesnt like to do it but if this is releaving her of the pain she went through then i dont see what the problem is.

Just because no official body has reported it, it doesn't mean it isn't true. Do you base your entire knowledge and beliefs on what is officially reported?

I haven't side-stepped anything - I was under the impression that we we discussing my choice to smoke cannabis for pain relief and your statement that it made me a 'waster', not the effects of cannabis.

Because:-
a) the pill and spray mentioned in the article aren't available, only to the people taking part in the trial;
b) I choose to.

I never said nothing else would work.

You asked why no-one was developing a drug and I've shown you evidence that someone is - what's the point in saying "But not Cannabis."? It's obvious it wouldn't cannabis - that would defeat the whole object of developing the drug; it would be easier to simply convert cannabis to pill form.

But not Cannabis.

Exactly - not cannabis, cannabis based drugs. You're arguing for Cannabis.

But strangely no official body has reported this conclusively, and you've sidestepped the effects of Cannabis.
I'm just saying certain things need to be considered when prosecuting different people. The law shouldn't be so black and white.
Not every tramp is a drug addict, or even takes drugs, so why should one that does get special treatment?
