Well, the drug is being (or has been) downgraded to class C. What does this mean? The government are keen to point out that it is still illegal, that those in possession will still be arrested.
On the news tonight, they used the phrase "Cannabis, a drug tens of thousands of people choose to smoke each week". I think they are seriously underestimating how widespread its use is. I wager everyone on here knows somebody who smokes it, I certainly do. Could decriminalizing the drug work in this country? There are huge benefits for the government in the way that it would free up a lot of police time, which could be used for catching those dealing/possessing harder drugs.
Is there any point whatsoever in downgrading the drug as they have done?

Hang on Timmargh, first you're saying you take it to stop pain ,but now you want it to feel good as well - this is the drug side effect and not medicinal at all. Hell you may as well take any old illegal drug because you'll be tripped out anyway...
Well to be honest Mouldy Cheese I can't be bothered to go back through the 300 odd posts either! Not right now anyway - but note that I am not actually arguing it should be illegal because it already IS illegal.

Bell, can you copy and paste any posts in this topic regarding why you think it should be illegal? I'm interested (everyone I know is of a strictly 'cannabis is cool' viewpoint) but I can't be arsed to go through 300 odd posts.

I can also see that a company seeking to develop a drug from Cannabis would want to back up it's decision with such a statement. And regarding health matters it usually is best to go with what actual doctors believe is right.
I pointed out the side effects of use because if Cannabis is used as pain medication then odds are at some point in your life you will get those side effects and Cannabis is stuff all good for treating them.
