I'll be creating a team again :)
Cool, will mention it in General Chat next week to hopefully get a few more involved. For those who might be interested it's dead easy to do,there's no knowledge of bike racing really required.Basically just work on the assumption that the guys who cost the most are the fastest and try to balance your teams accordingly (within the allocated budget),that's it really.
Damn!,just given away my secret formula.
Will do the Freeola Championship again this year but I'm moving teams. From now on I shall be known as The Bear Slayer! Hopefully a few others will join us this year, make it a bit more interesting.
I still reckon Honda are going to be the strongest team in MotoGP this year and I have Simoncelli (who lets not forget has a full HRC machine at his disposal) down to upset quite a few of the sports bigger names on a regular basis.I placed a bet on him last week and got 66-1 odds on him finishing in the top 3 in the championship.I don't bet in general, don't even do The Grand National but at those odds reckoned it was well worth a punt.Notice the odds on him seem to have more than halfed since last weeks test at Sepang though!.He's very fast,he just needs to keep it on the grey stuff, something he has not always managed to do.Remember Lorenzo when he first came into Gp's?,he was forever firing himself into the scenery and then he just seemed to stop crashing.Reckon that now he has a years experience and a really good bike Simoncelli could well do the same.Saying that I still reckon Stoner will be the bloke to dethrone Lorenzo though.Have to say I think his new JL/1 logo is the height of naffness, looks like the name of a boy band or something.Have you read Colin Edwards interview on the MCN site?,he is adamant Rossi was sandbagging in the Sepang test, the plot thickens.........
I too reckon Rea and Sykes are going to go very well in this years WBSK.Rea's Castrol Honda bike looks awesome, shame his team mate is probably going destroy a fair few of them! Wouldn't count Haslam and Camier out of it either, they should both be very strong.Don't forget Scott Redding and Bradley Smith are on decent bikes in Moto2 as well and of course Cal Crutchlow is in MotoGP.On paper it should be a great year for the Brits.
EDIT: Forgot about Eugene Laverty, please add him somewhere in the paragraph above!
It's nice to see Spies adapting well to the factory M1, I wouldn't be surprised to see Lorenzo taught a lesson next year.....
Also (as expected) Stoner is doing ok on the Honda, I wonder how long Pedrosa will keep his ride if both Stoner and Dovi are nice and consistent this year?
On a brighter note, the fantasy road race opens next weekend so you best get thinking about this years version of 'petegp'!
I've already thought of Rea and Sykes for WSB, but I haven't got much further than that.
There's a few us thinking about going to Donington in March as its only about 1 1/2 hours away, been to the MotoGP a few times when it was held there. Were not going to buy tickets in advance due to our lack of faith in the good old British weather. While it's great to get another UK round whoever scheduled it for March is either very optimistic or a complete nutter!
Just over a month now until WSB starts at Phillip Island!
Would you believe they're racing a donnington in March - there's gonna be some cold tyres that weekend!
In strange way though I kind of like it and I'm not really sure why ?.Suppose the sound of the screamers exhaust won't be quite as loud as the bikes colour scheme then ?.
On a serious note I was checking the wings around the front strut area. They should keep the duke's famously lively front end welded to the tarmac. Also I noticed the small AMG badge on the nose, have Ducati always had that ?,If they have I've never noticed it.Have AMG had some sort of input into the GP11 then ?
Can't wait for the test at Sepang in a few weeks,I'm really intrigued as to how that's going to pan out.
