I started to think about this because most people I know say they don't go on forums. Now they could all be lying, because they're scared I might ask which one and then go on and discover all their secrets, or because they might think it's sad. But I mean I'm interested to know what percentage of people go on forums, and if we are a certain 'type' of person in any respects.
I'm expecting lots of abuse now, with comments like 'you can't categorise people into one type, etc.' but that's not what I mean, just what the common factors are between us. Something someone said about there being a lot of insomniacs on forums got me thinking.
Once my first post (clearly of a high calibre) failed to win, I naturally had a tantrum about the unfair judging system, and left the site.
I came back a few months later, feeling curious about the place. It's was only the second online community I'd ever really seen, and I was hooked by the entertainment to be had from a group of people essentially just chatting here for fun. The place grew over the years, and I've stuck around. Sometimes I'm around, sometimes not. I doubt I'll ever reallly stay away though. Not whilst there are still people here I admire and respect, be it for their imagination, intelligence, sense of humour, or opinions.
