I wait with much anticipation.
They apparently started writing their next album in August.
They are apparently going to start recording it in March.
They are also apparently coming to tour Europe and the UK in Summer (I will email them about this later, and post the reply).
The new album will probably be out around October.
PS it will be gud.
Good stuff.

> The bloke's (name?)
Gavin Hayes - vocals
Mark Engles - guitars
Drew Roulette - basses
Dino Campanella - drums
Gavin also does some acoustic guitar, plays the trumpet you can hear on the album, and the mandolin as well. He also sings through a trumpet, which is one of the reasons I'd love to see them live.
Interestingly, Dino plays drums and piano. A pairing not often seen.
Drew does a lot of paintings, which are on display on the dredg official website and also taken on stage with them. And plays bass in bare feet, because his foot pedals are too small to wear shoes for. Heh.
The bloke's (name?) voice is great - it goes perfectly with the geetar and drum choruses, but also is beautiful on it's own. And Sanzen has both of these. Great lyrics, too.
A lot of the songs don't turn out the way you expect them to, which is one of the great things about this album. 18 People changes style once or twice, the build up to Sanzen almost sets the song up to be something else and so on. And the brushstroke tracks are great, it really helps the lucid dream feel. Lovely, lovely, lovely.
It's less obviously good, but once you've listened to it a few times it sounds fantastic.
I listen to Scissor Lock a lot, too. It's kinda freaky - good on the bus home from college, almost falling asleep.
El Cielo is definitly better. Haven't listened to Leitmotif as much though, because False Cathedrals has turned out to be even better than I previously thought.
Another fairly old album I listened to recently: Start With A Strong And Persistent Desire by Vex Red. You might have heard of them, they had two videos when their debut album was released. One got a few showings on MTV2 (called "Itch") and the other, Can't Smile, was more professionally shot and was even played on MTV a few times. I really like the album, it can get really heavy and noisy, but at other times becomes quite beautiful. The singer has an amazing voice when he wants to. A CD worth looking into - not everyone's thing though.
