I wait with much anticipation.

That makes sense - if you look in the back of the booklet, they thank Papa Roach in their big list. This = reason.
Pumpkins, I miss thou.
Rival Schools are genius too - probably my favourite 'current' band.

Yep - I wonder how they write them so that that happens. Would they just write it, then merge them or write them with a merger in mind? I couldn't do it, I know that.

I wish I had. Sadly not, though, unless you like Romanian gypsy music. I have a CD from a massively talented band of gypsies, but I wouldn't recommend it because it's so far removed from mainstream.
The only reason I know about Dredg at all is from a friend who was given some excerpts CDs. She signed up for a Papa Roach street team thing, ie you get things through the mail and distribute them at venues, alternative shops etc. One day she got some Dredg CDs and stickers through, and handed them out to friends. I didn't think they were brilliant straight away; I listened to the ten minutes on the CD once or twice and forgot about it. Then about 18 months later found it again, put it on and realised they were absolutely brilliant. I logged onto Dredg.com, found El Cielo was coming out, ordered both albums from Amazon, and hey presto.
But enough of my life story.

Yeah, and what he says actually has meaning with respect to the theme of the album, the Dali painting, etc. etc. I remember the "one second club" having some significance.
It must take the guys ages to put one of their albums together, which is probably why they don't release one very often. El Cielo was 2002 I think, and Leitmotif was originally released in 1997. That's five years, which is pretty long, especially considering that they are the first two albums from the band.
I think they're probably the best band around today, although I haven't been listening to modern music much lately.

There's some pretty sweet transitions on El Cielo - between Same Ol' Road and Sanzen, there's no change.
And I like that kind of stuff.
Thinking about it, El Cielo flows really well - y'know sometimes you get a kind of dischord from one track to the next, well there's none of that.

Heh.
A good band's a good band, right?
If you've got anymore little known but genius bands, do chuck them out.
Got to say, I love the album even more today.
I've got Kings of Leon and Starsailor on the same mp3 thingy, but I only listen to Dredg. That's saying something.
Scissor Lock has become one of my favorites now, and Whoa Is Me as well - the ending is hilarious.
*Sigh*
Wonderful
I've heard of something like a shorter EP.
Dredg for the dreaminess and brilliance, Glassjaw for the proper jumpy emocore stuff.
Oh well. Life goes on.
