Chelsea have apparently said they would be prepared to table a bid for £60 million if he were available at that price.

This comes only days after offering Arsenal £40-50 million for Henry.

So. Van the man is worth more to Chelsea than Henry eh?

*adds fuel to the burning fire of hatred that exists between Utd and Arsenal fans*

I'd rather keep the van.

Perhaps if the £60M was coming from Spain/Italy then it would be viable, but for Van to don the chelski shirt every season at OT would be unforgivable.

Looks like Fergie could accept the offer of 60 million, as he'd be mad not too.

Fergie would probably get Kluivert and a few other players then.

It has the same amount if not more than the premiership.

Still the likes of Totti, Shevchenko, Recoba, Vieri, Del Piero, Trezeguet, Claudio Lopez, Inzaghi, Cassano (worlds most expensive teenager)

Did you know the premiership has already had more 0-0 draws this season than all of last season?

Would suit them better just to get someone like Raul.

More suited to their style of play I think.

I think Chelsea would be better of buying some new Midfielders as Frank Lampard and Claude Makelele (sp?) are looking a little tired.

I also think they should get rid of Veron and Geremi as they are completely useless.

Heh, the Italian league doesn't have too many world class strikers these days - although it does have some.

Italian teams like to defend. Which is really entertaining, as last year's Champion's League final demonstrated.

er as the man lucky enough to be a blue, have to say i wouldn't pay that for van nistelrooy, whilst he is undenaibly a good goal scorer, henry has so much more to his game as he is creative, he gets more assists than some top level midfielders. I saw Van Nistelrooy get an assist for the first time the other day when he fed giggs in with a briliant ball.

Van nistelrooy would only cost us more because Man utd are in a better position to negotiate, I have more money in my bank account than Arsenal....and i'm a student!

In truth Vieri would be a better short term option, he'll be cheap as he now hates inter and is a little bit older, but easily has 2 or 3 top years left in him. He is a much better Goalscorer than both of them, which is shown by the fact he was top scorer in the ITALIAN LEAGUE by about 10 goals and and italian goal is worth 1.4 english goals according my recently invented/made up formula. While we have Vieri just by up loads of the young talented strikers, fresh of the boats from south american and Holland and we'll be better of for the future, and probably only just spend 60 mil.
