Chelsea have apparently said they would be prepared to table a bid for £60 million if he were available at that price.

This comes only days after offering Arsenal £40-50 million for Henry.

So. Van the man is worth more to Chelsea than Henry eh?

still time, although it doesnt look great.

agreed

i did point him out as the one exception. but how could it go so horribly wrong after he had atleast a reasonable previous season.

lol. davor, the goals over there, we can see your underwear, oh how we despair. (sang the north bank) however we got some money from when west ham flogged him off, i think.

good in the champs league

mr reliable? he was a good signing. he filled in so much when we needed him.

then all of a sudden he plays well for inter. he is a true plonker. red cards galore.

a good server to the team and almost scored a stunning volley... once

lol

i hope he goes home. SOON.

i think hes been a key member to the team.

no manager is perfect, i agree.

what about kolo "the beast" toure. top bloke. were getting his brother too.

i want to know what happened to:

chris wreh

seaman (i think we bought for 500k and sold for the same)

wrighty

and lukic. he was the worst player ever to disgrace the arsenal shirt. i hate him so much its just not funny. me and a friend used to talk about who was the worst blunderer. lukic, taibi or pagliuca in his bad season.

and whilst only a complete idiot would deny Wenger has signed some awesome players in his time at arsenal, Anelka (if only for resale), Viera and Henry being some of the greatest signings ever, not to mention Ljungberg pires and co! He has had his fair shair of rubbish signings to and has lost quite a huge amount on a few players.

Jeffers 10 (tried to sell him for 3 mill last summer)
Van Bronthorst 10 (now valued at 2.5 mill and going to leave)
Wiltord 13 (going to leave for free in the summer)
Suker 3.5 (west ham free)
R. Wright 6 (sold for 3.5, rising to 4.5 on club performance)
Pascal Cygan 2.5 (flop, probably going back to france for less than 1m)
Grimandi 2 (free)
Vivas 2 (Free)
Luhzny 2 (free)
Danilevicius 1 (free)
Stepanovs 1 (flop)

Wenger paid about 53 mill for these and has got or is likely to get no more than 12 mill back for them, and thats before wages are considered.

And then there are Kanu and Lauren who have hardly been raving successes Lauren cost 7 mill and is a pretty big liability, Arsene Wenger tries to offload Kanu at any opportunity he can but he always seems to stay and not to much 3.5 mill.

Wenger has done brilliant work at arsenal and there success has been hugely down to him being incharge but he's not infallible!

He's easily the best striker in the country got 19 assists according to opta, compared to ruud van nistelrooy's mighty 0

Trevor Henry did cost you 10.5 mill, i challenge you to find anywhere that says he was 5mil!

Francesco Totti appears to be the new No.1 on Mr.Abramovich's Christmas Shopping List....

Heh. And I laugh at how Pavel Nedved has turned down any chance of playing at Stamford Bridge; simply because he is not influenced in that way by money!

He's the first player to have said what we've all been thinking! :D

LIES!

henry was not 11m. he was 4.5 plus another money based clause worth no more than a mil.

id like to see where henry is in the strikers list for assists.

anelka = 500k > 23m+
petit = 6.5m > 6m ish
overmars = 6m + 1m > 6-7m
vieira = 4.5m
henry = 4.5m + 1m ish clause
pires = 7.5m (?)
campbell = 6m

stunning buys. transfer wise, i think wenger is only 11m in the negative over his time at arsenal. in that time, prices have rised hugely and the club has gone from 5th and below, up to top 2.

Well, in the League, the average strike rate is as follows:
------------------
1st: Shearer - Played 1440 Mins - Scored 15 Goals - A goal every 96mins

2nd: Owen - Played 901 Minutes - Scored 8 Goals - A goal every 112mins

3rd: Van Nistel. - Played 1509 minutes - Scored 13 Goals - A goal every 116mins

4th: Henry - Played 1440 Mins - Scored 10 Goals - A goal every 144mins
------------------

So, I concur that both the Van Man and Henry are actually the 3rd and 4th respectively best scorers in the Premier League this season.

Wrong.

Van Nistelrooy has 13 League goals to Henry's pathetic 10 :P
