I looked in the Sunday TV Mag yesterday and saw Flight of The Navigator.. that was a wicked film.. then I remembered D.A.R.Y.L, another good one.
What movies can you remember from watching when you were young ?

"Ankle Biters" is one of the worst films I have ever seen. With midget vampires and a micro budget you would have thought at least some fun might be found in it, but sadly, no. ("Jack Frost: The Killer Snowman" springs to mind where the opposite is true)
The acting is appaling (I can stand that), the story is poor (I can stand that too), effects are none existent (again, no a problem) but the criminal fact is that its just *boring*
Each time the midget vamps attack, they just sort of lie on the floor, growling and nibbling the big guys legs. Trust me, it's not as fun as it sounds.
Save yourself 3 quid. Don't bother.

Excellent Movie.
Cocaine definately played a part in the concoction of that story.

I'm going to hunt this down on DVD methinks.
"Live fast, fight hard and die a glorious death! Also take a moment to eye up my breasts as my chest heaves in an exaggerated fashion and I give you sultry looks through the vidcom"

Wasn't that the film which featured Hannibal from the A Team as a Space Cowboy? And didn't Robert Vaughn have some sort of crappy ship too and a bunch of Aliens in a UFO were all linked or am I getting confused with the Last Starfighter where he wins the battle spinning his ship so fast it is stupid and made me want to kill.
I must seek help.
"I need some weapons to defend my planet"
"Why don't you just forget about that planet, and stay here to bone my daughter"
"Not 'arf! I mean... my people need me..."
"Shad, let's run away, that way you can bone me AND save your planet!"
"Tip top, let's go"
> Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone.
Long time since I've heard of that one. I used to have it on Betamax.
My favorite, "Battle Beyond The Stars"
SF remake of "The Seven Samuri", (and also by proxy "The Magnificent Seven") Starring Richard Thomas as John-Boy in Space (Shad), with John Saxon, Robert Vaughn and George Peppard in attendance, chewing scenery like its never been chewed before. Roger Corman directing, endlessly repeating fx shots taken from another film (I forget what) and utterly cheesy, camp SF fun.
Oh, And Shads ship has the largest breasts in film history (yes, a space ship)
Track it down. Its perfect for a Saturday bad movie night.
I used to think it was cheesy, but when I saw it again on Channel 5 some time ago, I decided it was just plain naff.
The main character is a Roguish adventurer and ultimately a poor-man's Han Solo, Michael Ironside is the villain and Ernie 'Winston Zeddemore' Hudson also makes an appearance.
It has terrible special effects and some poor acting, but's it's harmless naff fun.
It was an 80's animated sci-fi film. I remember my brother won tickets to go and see it, and he won a free T-shirt with the film's logo on it.
The movie was also in glorious 3D, meaning me as a youngster had to struggle to watch the movie whilst balancing those stupid 3D glasses on my nose.
