My sound has now not been working for ages and ages, and I do not have a clue why.

Everythign is plugged in correctly, etc but under control panel > Sounds and Audio Devices, it still says 'No Audio Device'.

When I try to play something in Windows Media Player, again it says ' Cannot play back the audio stream, no audio hardware is available, or the hardware is not responding'.

Please please please does anyone know what's wrong, because I NEED my music???

Thanks in Advance

In which case, click my computer. On the left you'll see "View system information".

Then follow the instructions as before.

Aha, indeed.

I had 98SE until I got my new Comp in June, and forgot the general layout.

Most of what I said is still the same, though! :D

Right click my computer, click system information. Click then hardware tab, and click device manager.

Scroll down to audio devices. You might need new drivers. Is there an icon next to sound devices (or whatever it's called)?

First of all, you haven't taken anything out of the PC have you? Or messed around with the BIOS?

If the answer to both of them is no, right click my computer > properties > device manager tab and then look under the sound, video and game controllers list by clicking the plus beside it.

What have you got listed there?

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
