My sound has now not been working for ages and ages, and I do not have a clue why.

Everythign is plugged in correctly, etc but under control panel > Sounds and Audio Devices, it still says 'No Audio Device'.

When I try to play something in Windows Media Player, again it says ' Cannot play back the audio stream, no audio hardware is available, or the hardware is not responding'.

Please please please does anyone know what's wrong, because I NEED my music???

Thanks in Advance

I had exactly the same problem, Ddd you install windows again recently cause sometimes you can mess up with the drivers and then it's imposible to re-install it (unless you know how to yourself)try to install windows again.

If you type 'dxdiag' in the run thingy, then it tells you. but for me it says there is not one because it is uninstalled.

No it does not tell me in the manual or anything that I can find what the card is. Damn

sometimes it does, but not always. did you buy the card separate from the PC? If so there must be some record or paraphenalia that you got with it. If you got it already installed into the PC, there must be a record of the specification, which will tell you what it is.

Ok will it say that on the actually card? Because if they do I can't see them.

it says it 'cannot be done' or that it can't find the drivers on the disk?

you're going to have to find out what specific card it is, and either find the disks you got with the card/PC, or if you're sure you didn't get any, log on to the manufacturers official site and download them.
