This one closes on April 1st, but it's not an April fool.

Over the coming weeks we are upgrading our search engine. It's having a triple destructurisation operation and invisible lurking terms enhancements.

The prize will go to the person who finds the MOST VALID PROBLEMS across our WHOLE PRODUCT RANGE in the SEARCH FACILITY.

If you think you should be able to search on "Horror Movies", but nothing comes up, then add it to your list.

If you think people will mis-spell gran turismo, then add that too - but test it first.

Use short lists if possible but multiple posts will count together. i.e. all your posts on this subject will add up and count towards the prize.

Closes 9 am on April 1st, 2001.

I recommend you read the details of our searching process which you can click to from a link at Site Map. Basically we use the start of a word, so a search on "thunder" will find "thunderball". If several words are combined it must find all.

Well I'm not sure if I understand the question correctly. But no, I am not Ken.

Ken is new. He's a bit shy at the moment, but I expect he'll make his presence known fairly soon.

This already works. If you type "Mario" it will return all the Mario games.

That would be useful

Yes - I agree. Where would we put it?

Another good idea, but it might take a bit of work to sort it out.

Site Map is intended to do this. You can limit your searches by category at Site Map too.

How about a system where all the games with a specific character in it is picked out.

Link although appears in all Zelda games is also in Smaash brothers same with Donkey kong who also appears in Mario Tennis, Golf, Party ande Kart

Crash bandicoot also appears in Crash team racing and Crash bash. So if i put Crash Bandicoot in i get 1/2/3 but what about Crash team racing and Crash Bash so these should be put in.

lol... I'm not a big fan of the Jeeves search engine... and due to the results I pretty much never use it...

Although it does have some basic context checking stuck in there...

Besides... given the binary nature of computers, pretty much all they can do are binary operations :)

Intelligent may be the technical term for it, but it's not what I'd call it. All jeeves does is slightly alter the keywords being searched depending on the other words in your query. At the end of the day, it's still a boolean search facility which looks for the prescence (or not) of certain words. The only real difference is that it takes control of the search words away from the user. If you're reasonably adept with a normal search engine (ie you have some sort of idea what keywords you should use), your results will be just as good.

Either way, in my experience, the rsults of Jeeves tend to be something like...

"People with SIMILAR but fundamentally DIFFERENT questions, found the following sites useful. They most likely will be completely IRRELEVANT to your search. Thankyou for using askjeeves.com"
