"IS the Playstation 2 to really worth spending 300 odd pounds?"

All im saying is that yeah the playstation 2 has a DVD in it, yeah it has the best Graphics any console has ever been able to produce but other console makers like Nintendo and Dreamcast will target this oppurtunity. They will bring out new consoles with better Graphics and better gameplay for a lot less than £300 making the Playstation a lot less popular for example the gamecube. If you think about kids these day dont have £300 lying around anywhere and there mum and dad arent just gonna give them £300 quid so my advice is either buy the gamecube or wait till the price goes down.

What's wrong with sequels??

Also, how can the console be ****?? It's the best out, but there aren't that many good games for it.

Terrifying! Umm, it is nowhere near as good as the Dreamcast, I can say that much. I remember how the Saturn failed - I wanted everyone to give it a chance, but they were all buying Playstations. They were of course right to do so. I get a Dreamcast thinking it will be the best thing ever - it is very good indeed with loads of games - I try to persuade people to buy one, some do, but most buy PS2. This shouldn't be happening.

I can say that Grix made good point, nearly all 3rd parties are thinking of stopping manufacturing for the PS2, thats scray isn't ant?

I can't wait to see all your faces when I'm playing on MGS2, GT3, ZOE, Soul Reaver 2 and all the others I've listed on my topic on the PS2 forum!!

Also, the console isn't s**t, it's the best out at the moment. It just hasn't got the games. But it will do soon.

PPS- To carry on the trend though, I will say this, Dreamcast is utter s**t.

May I firstly apologise for using the '!' in that word - I meant to **** it all out.

Anyway, to be honest I can see why everyone is giving a game away with them - go to places like simplygames and you'll get a PS2 + SSX for £300, and right here you get a remote for the DVD player.

I don't like the design - it's just a bit big and awkward. Whoever posted the message stating that it has the best graphics is misguided, I don't think anything can touch the realism of Shenmue, the special effects of JSR nor the incredible speed of Le Mans 24.

Tekken Tag is rubbish.

Fifa 2001 is rubbish, and there aren't any AAA titles yet. There is DVD playback, but it's very 'dark' in comparison to my other player. The £299.99 price is very high and will come down soon to atound £250 I reckon, but there aren't many decent games on it at all!

Has anyone seen the SIZE of the X-Box? It's HUGE!! And that's not a good thing. The bigger they are the harder they fall...

I'd say the PS2 will get better - I hope it does, but there must be more to look forward to than sequels - or the never ending supply of EA's supposedly good sports sims under the name of 2001... GT3 better be good.

PSX will win the next gen console battle - I guarantee it.

I can't think the PS2 is that bad Dan... I think you're anger is speaking more than your actual experience with it.

What I'm unsure of though, is if the PS2 has much future... companies and all jumping ship, it does seem rather scary.
