"IS the Playstation 2 to really worth spending 300 odd pounds?"

All im saying is that yeah the playstation 2 has a DVD in it, yeah it has the best Graphics any console has ever been able to produce but other console makers like Nintendo and Dreamcast will target this oppurtunity. They will bring out new consoles with better Graphics and better gameplay for a lot less than £300 making the Playstation a lot less popular for example the gamecube. If you think about kids these day dont have £300 lying around anywhere and there mum and dad arent just gonna give them £300 quid so my advice is either buy the gamecube or wait till the price goes down.

Only problem, Ant, is that the PS2's a ***** to develop for. The vast majority of publishers releasing for it are reporting miniscule, if non-existent, earnings for this season. That isn't good for the thing, mostly since they blame Sony for not releasing enough of the machine to support their software.

Wild Wild Racing is rubbish. Don't dispute that!

I think you're going WAY over the top. I ain't heard anything about this, and I already know that Namco have 12 titles in the making, Konami are still with the PS2, along with EA, LucasArts, Codemasters, the makers of the GT3 game (forgot what they're called), Eidos, THQ and many more.
Why would they stop making for them?? The PS2 is selling well over here.

Over the next year we are going to see top class titles for the PS2, I guarentee it.

Jealous? Why? I have Tekken tag and it's too slow and so boring! Soul calibur...

I'm sorry, but I would politely like to say that MGS 2 will NEVER be a B title. Don't get me wrong; I'm an avid Nintento supporter in the upcoming Console Wars. But let's get real here: Hideo Kojima hasn't made a bad game since...well...actually, I'm not sure he's EVER made a bad game.

Ant TTT isn't that good compared to SCalibur!

THe PS2 situation is **** in terms of games available - it's supposed to be a station to play games on, but it seems like more of a bus or train station now - games just aren't arriving on time!

The actual console is good - especially the CD facility - I was listening to Mauro Picotto Lizard Man last night, and the cube turned from Blue (reflecting the CD light) to green (reflecting the other reset light) - excellent stuff.

No, sorry - the PS isn't **** - it just isn't all there yet - I hope it gets better and it will, but for now there is a better 128bit next generation machine available for me to play on, so it's not all bad.

PS2 looks quite good really.
And the box is excellent
