However I don't even think Nemo's crew will be able to keep that title from what is seemingly going to be one of the best films ever - Return of the King.
'That wasn't funny. And I know funny. I'm a clown fish!'
They love that kind of stuff.
I don't watch hentai myself, although I have seen some. I've also seen a few monster flicks like Urotsukidoji and whatnot. It's not offensive to me, it's entertainment.
Rape in movies - actors portraying an offensive act
Rape in cartoons - cartoon artists doing the same.

I haven't, except to purposefully wind up anime fans.
My problems with anime are simple - it doesn't engage me on any level, therefore I don't watch it.
But this discussion into the stereotypical rape-anime is because Bane suggested (albeit jokingly) that I watch these particular films.
I like a lot of films, I don't like a lot of films. But I'm no more going to tar anime fans as being cartoon-sex watching geeks anymore than I'm going to label somebody that enjoys watching Jeaunet & Caro films as weirdy Francophiles.
I've never bothered with Hentai. Because I loathe anime, so seeing drawn people having sex does nothing for me.
Personally, I find the portrayal of rape as entertainment to be not amusing/enjoyable. There was a film called "Irreversible" that, as it's centerpiece, had a 9min rape scene. I'm well aware of this movie, and because I find that offensive I choose not to watch it.
I don't scream for it to be banned or demand nobody else watches it, I just decide to not rent/buy that film because I know it will offend me.
Same with the typical anime stuff with dragons and schoolgirl rapings - doesn't do it for me so I don't bother with it.
Same with normal anime, doesn't do it for me so I don't bother with it.
It's when somebody else decides that I *shouldn't* watch something that irks me, these ninnies that write in complaining about a tv show because of "blah blah". Don't like it? Don't watch it, that simple.
Although, even though I don't watch these things, I wouldn't like to see rape enter the mainstream as a form of entertainment. Sex mixed with violence has been proven to be the most effective trigger of sociopathic/unstable behaviour in those prone to those emotions anyway.
"The Accused" I think, was the 1st film to portray rape as a plot device, and it showed the outcome and effect of it. It conveyed the physical and emotional devestation caused by rape. As long as the effects and situations are shown graphically and realistically and not as entertainment, then I've nothing against it.
It's when rape is used solely as a plot-device and no effects/outcome for the victim shown that I feel that is dangerous territory.
It's funny really, that whenever people bring up the subject of Japanese animation, some unknowing persons always play the "porn card", thus belittling all anime and painting it with the same brush.
Yes there is plenty of porn, girls being raped by demons, big robots, girls with large eyes etc, but don't insult fans of anime by lowering to the level of having to use these base descriptions to describe things we enjoy watching.
It's easy to find it funny because it's not real.
Porn is, at least the legally available, consensual sex between adults.
Rape is non-consensual, forced sexual violence to male or female.
Of course it is up to the individual what they deem offensive, but in any decent society, rape is seen as a crime - legally and morally.
The enforced domination of another unwilling, unconsenting victim through sexual violence is, in whatever form, just plain wrong.
I'm not cricising you for enjoying cartoon rape, I just find it a little concerning to me that you find it "funny" but hey, each to their own.
> Yes, and I didn't find it entertaining or funny. Infact I don't think
> I've even seen the whole thing.
> If you get off on watching cartoons have sex then why not just watch
> 'normal' no rape hentai?
How about because, you stroppy bint, I don't 'get off' on it as you so self-righteously assume. It's entertainment. It's cartoony demons swallowing each others spunk to assume their powers.
And as for hentai, you find the demon parody of rape to be offensive, and yet then then to the cartoon equivalent of porn, which parodies nothing and is just porn for cartoon lovers?
Surely if demon sex is offensive, so too is hentai? But then, so would most of what gets broadcast these days. Why don;t you, instead of looking for problems in what you watch, just try to enjoy it for what it is, and think less about how it could be concieved as a form of misogynistic bigotry.
Personally, I don;t believe in any one thing being offensive. What is offensive should be determined by individuals, not by people pointing at it and saying that is offensive to x, but people are stupid, and like to create arguments, no?
