.. is Finding Nemo.

However I don't even think Nemo's crew will be able to keep that title from what is seemingly going to be one of the best films ever - Return of the King.

'That wasn't funny. And I know funny. I'm a clown fish!'

But rape is still a crime over there, so they should be depicting it seriously, not as a form of entertainment.

Obviously that should read "the Japanese are very different to us".
Though I've never tried to use a Japanese person before.

Rape will always cause controversy when it's in a film because it's one of the worst possible acts you could commit against another person. Whether the after-effects are shown or not depends on the characters that the plot follows, so you could be left with a rape scene and no follow-up. If you're watching from the main character's point of view, and he/she/it commits rape then, personally, I would turn off, because you're encouraged to have an empathy with the character, and I just wouldn't want to get into that mindset.

I think I've said what I meant to.

Certain sectors enjoy it yes.
You have to understand that, as I said, the Japanese are very different to use. Look at the video games they make; it's not all just Pro Evo Soccer and Metal Gear Solid, they make all types of weird and wonderful games (dating sims anyone?).
They make anime series where the heroines have unfeasibly large knockers or very short skirts that constantly reveal their little panties. They’re weird.
But that’s not the only stuff they create, and that must be kept in mind. They do make normal things too.

Gah, this conversation is going nowhere.

Bottom line and last post in this thread from me - I don't actually care if anyone else gets offended or doesn't like it etc, and I don't give a flying fart if I'm percieved as a weirdo by some for having seen such things and enjoyed them as entertainment rather than a denegration of women and a dangerous voyage into the territory of sexual violence.

End

The Japanese love to make cartoons with characters raping each other? It's sick. Although, seeing as it's not real, that's good. But for them to have the minds to do that is slightly weird!

This is my point Bane.

Scum is nasty. Snooker ball in a sock? Ouch! And that's only one of two films I've ever heard use the "C" word.

Hollyoaks had a male gang-rape scene. That show is truly ground-breaking.

Yes I have seen Scum. And the result of that kid getting raped was that he killed himself. It showed the outcome and effect of that situation.
Nobody is saying you should eject it in a huff of self-righteous fury and run screaming through hot-blooded lips.
Have you even read my posts and understood my points?

And I have, at no point, said it should be offensive to you. I've simply stated what *I* deem offensive.
I haven't said you shouldn't watch them, I haven't said they should be burned.
I said "it doesn nothing for me, therefore I don't watch it".
