I need to get myself a proper walkman - reasonable priced - as in a price that will allow me to be able to take it to high school with me with out any worries of it being destroyed. I'd prefer it to be a CD-Player, but a minidisc player is fine. please bear in mind that i desperately want the mega-bass thingy, with the wierd connection. y'know. a row of pins.

meh.

I got a pair of the propper Sony noise cancelling ones at the start of the year - uses frequency shifting to filter out background noise as well as the rubber plugs. Very expensive (around £100 plus import) - totally rubbish. Like every other set of Sony headphones I've ever used. Pair of Steinheiser HD200s - half the price and many, many times better.

Can't beat a good old iPod - you also get a brilliant set of headphones with the new versions.

Ha, i'd go for a NetMD. Prices range from however much you can afford. They have moving parts, yet. But while waking or running they don't skip, I even tried to make it skip..

Listening to music.. *skakes as hard as can*
Still listening to music.

Hehe, but walking and running it would be fine.

You can kick a MiniDisc around in the sand or something and it still plays afterwards.

But its not my money to spend, but there's my 2 cents.

the thing is, i have no idea wether the NAPA is any louder than the one i have now. i KNOW the CD-walkam WILL be nice and loud, because it has digital mega-bass, which is far better. where as the NAPA has not - i guess.

nah, the ones i bought have wierd rubber plugs, that go right in your ear - like earplugs you use to go to sleep with (well, not me), that are REALLY effective at sifting music from babbling from nearby people.
they also have meaty bass responses.

You paid £27 for headphones?!

Anyway, they will work with any hifi or cd player etc. The only thing that makes them better than other headphones is the better magnets. Same plug and everything.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
