I need to get myself a proper walkman - reasonable priced - as in a price that will allow me to be able to take it to high school with me with out any worries of it being destroyed. I'd prefer it to be a CD-Player, but a minidisc player is fine. please bear in mind that i desperately want the mega-bass thingy, with the wierd connection. y'know. a row of pins.

meh.

It looks good. This is, of course, the most important criteria for choosing a personal product.

After all this annoyance, i've decided to go way out of what i originally thought of, and chose the Creative Muvo NX thingy. looks goood from the picture. will have to wait till christmas to see though.

The napa's got a reasonable price-tag, nice size, fancy-thing factor, and just plain practicality.

A Sony Net MD or an iPod depending on your budget. Noting else comes close to either of those in their respective price ranges.

now, let's not trail off topic. i have headphones, but it's the question on a better walkman. MP3, MD, CD, anything, but i'll say yet again, i'm not going to bring it to school if it's too much (80+ pounds).

Go into a good, independent Hi-Fi retailer, tell them what you have to spend and see what they've got. They probably won't let you try any of the in-ear ones for obvious ear waxy reasons, but at least they'll know where to point you.
