Anyway, for some reason they decided to show the film today a few weeks after release. And it was on the premier screen. Which is r0x0ring to say the least. The seats are actually normal, non-folding ones, and there was more legroom than a normal screen when the seats are folded. And the drinks holders were better. And there was a little table on the end of each row. And it was really small, and two tiered. And there were three people in there, one being the person I went with. And and and...
The film was excellent, but completely bonkers and a lot....most of it didn't make sense, but to be honest it wouldn't be a good anime if it did. And if that's not enough it's got Tara Strong, voice of Rikku in FFX, the guy who did Colonel Campbell in MGS (who more than likely has a name, but if he has I can't remember it), and John Ratzenberger, Cliff in Cheers and seems to have been in most Pixar films, all voice acting. Yep. So watch it. And not as in "so watch it or I'll duff you up".
> a mention should be made of the ghibli releases at the end of the month. Kiki and Laputa.
It's good to see them being released here at last for the general public to ignore, but suprise suprise, the dvds are naff. According to Play.com, the only "extras" on Kiki's Delivery Serive are:
Storyboard version of film in 4:3 fullscreen with Japanese DD2.0 Stereo and optional English subtitles
Interactive menu
Scene access
Pretty poor.
Castle in the Sky is the same except that has a few Japanese trailers.
It's a real shame.
> Goatboy you really shouldn't take every oppurtunity to bash anime,
No, I've said I don't enjoy it. Not anime is crap. Please learn to read correctly before posting, it really does help sometimes.
"There's probably some good stuff out there, but I can't bring myself to watch it"
I've bashed myself, not anime.

Anime is a genre.
A medium is DVD/35mm/VHS.
A genre is a subgroup of a particular medium.
Film is a medium, books are another.
A genre of the medium "book" is fiction.
A genre of the medium "film" is animation.
Anime is a medium not a genre, just like there are many genres of movies so there are for animes aswell.
Websites like animesucks.com are created to cause a stir and provoke negative attention. You get that a lot, very similar to Goatboy and his negative comments.
Totoro - Don't recommend the US version, the UK one will be out early next year and good luck to me on the competition for Spirited Away artwork to be included in the DVD gallery ^__^ a mention should be made of the ghibli releases at the end of the month. Kiki and Laputa.
Spirited Away is a good film, unfortunately it can be seen as confusing, it's a shame that it wasn't a movie like Laputa, everyone can understand that Ghibli. Hopefully Howl's Moving Castle will get a much larger cinema release seeing as it's based on a British Childrens book.

But that person would be right - just because you don't like wine in general doesn't mean you won't like one particular wine. Likewise, most anime might bore you, but you might like one particular.
