Someone who heard a few Iron Maiden albums and said 'God those lyrics are cliched and appalling to the extreme'.
That goes for most of Metallica's Black album too.

Ok. They look them up in a dictionary just to check they've spelt them correctly.
Are you happy now?
Pfft. Bloody Rock Opera.

The don't fit any genre fully but I will say this:
PitchShifter's guitarist has now joined The Prodigy so guess what some of the next album will sound like?

God knows how anyone say Maiden's lyrics are not considered. It really makes one question the whole argument put forward.
Or is this another example of someone who heard the Run To The Hills re-release and judges 25 years on that?

Er, Smashing Pumpkins? Etc etc etc. I know what you mean, but I think naitonality is completely irrelevant in this sense, unless a band is fiercely political.
Actually, UK is culturaly and politicly aligned to the US, so there is no sodding difference!
ATDI/Mars Volta isn't 'true American', and yet they are two of my favouritst bands.
And old De La Rocha is from Mexico. Gave Rage the fire of true political feelings etc. Brilliant, brilliant music.
