Christian Bale.
You may remember his as the boy from the fantastic Empire of the Sun and as high-flying yuppie nutcase Patrick Bateman in American Psycho.
Hopefully the new Batman film will be much better than the last few efforts, which were pretty naff to say the least, still, time will tell I suppose.
> Jake would be good, but not as good as Bale. Mr Equilibrium
The only reason I suggested Jake is simply due to my undying love for Donnie Darko :D
The film... not the character.

Yeah I know it does. I wonder...
Jake would be good, but not as good as Bale. Mr Equilibrium
And okay Jake is too young I presumed that but he can still play a reserved enough character to be Batman.
> Jake Gyllenhaal? I don't remember Batman being 12. Or a monger.
Its true Jake Gyllenhaal would be good, but he is too young to be cast as Batman (early twenties I believe). Ever since the short list was released I've been backing Bale. His performances in all his films have been excellent with variation. No doubt he'll bring the edge to Batman that is needed.
At the moment, its sounding up to be an awesome Batman.
Maybe even better than Batman: Deadend
:)

I didn't say he wouldn't be... but Jake is such an accomplished mysterious character... as Batman himself Jake would be fine... as Bruce on the other hand Bale would be far more suited.
Still, he'll never be as good as Adam West with his baggy costume and gay sidekick.
"I simply am not there."
