There are plenty of moments in many films I own on DVD, which spoil the whole flavour of the movie like a t^rd in vegetable soup. For example if I could, I'd edit out Sam in LOTR, whacking goblins with his frying pan in the Moria rumble and all the comedy stuff with Gimli in the Two Towers. The stick around bit from Predator would be gone too.

Anyway is there anything on the market (or is incoming) that will let you do this without reducing the quality of the master disk?

In fact this should be made possible as I'd happily edit a 4 hour Alien/Aliens spectacular.

If I was a gimp, but you get my point.

But Stryke, don't you think the comedy moments they wrote into it spoil the whole thing? Most of it was just racism towards dwarfs anyway...

Final Fantasy let you reedit one section of it on the extras DVD. Don't know about most of you, but I just want to watch the movie and can't be bothered with things like that.

The film was far more loyal to the book than I expected it to be. I accepted some stuff has to be changed for cinematic purposes, such as Frodo's haste in leaving the Shire, or spicing up the Weathertop confrontation. The only big problem I have is that they changed Glorfindel for Arwen at the Ford of Bruinen, but even with that I see the need for a bigger female role.

I'll be bitchy, however, if Saruman is killed by Gandalf or something. Which is what I think will happen. And I was annoyed that Eomer was outside Helms Deep at the beginning of the battle.

Actually, the elves turning up at Helms Deep was annoying. But still, better battle than in the book. Gimli still should have been forced into the caves though.

You should hate the film anyway. It's what book fans are supposed to do. It's like the law.

Sounds like fun. Not too keen on the badger though.

That's another reason I don't really like the LOTR films that much. It's got the Hollywood comedy stance, which isn't funny at all. "Lift me up" or whatever he says when he can't see over the wall. It's pathetic, anyone who laughed at that needs to be rubbed in the face with a badger and left alone in a room with the book and audiobook of LOTR for fifteen years.
