There are plenty of moments in many films I own on DVD, which spoil the whole flavour of the movie like a t^rd in vegetable soup. For example if I could, I'd edit out Sam in LOTR, whacking goblins with his frying pan in the Moria rumble and all the comedy stuff with Gimli in the Two Towers. The stick around bit from Predator would be gone too.
Anyway is there anything on the market (or is incoming) that will let you do this without reducing the quality of the master disk?
In fact this should be made possible as I'd happily edit a 4 hour Alien/Aliens spectacular.

Pah, Final Fantasy is rubbishy computer game fantasy, not High Fantasy. Tolkien invented the word, and he spelt it mithril.
My stance on the films is neutral, as I watched the first film and decided to watch all 3 before I read the books, as half the time I end up skipping towards the end to find out what happens, spoiling all the tension etc. So, I'll comment in about 4 months time.
