Christiano Ronaldo that is :D in a £7.7 Million deal. This should be the perfect replacement for missing out on Ronaldinho and plus he's young too, so definitly one for the future. Can play up front, just behind Ruud or even on the right wing so he's very versatile to. Should be a good buy if Kenyon can actually close this deal instead of mucking around for 2 months.

Especially expensive considering he is the last year of his contract.

Apparently there is the possibility that he could be loaned back to spoting for the season.

Until this transfer, I'd never even heard of the guy - let alone ever seen him play!

When I saw the headlines in the 'papers, I just asumed it was more rubbish about United being linked with `THE´ Ronaldo; who was unhappy at being left-out of the Real Madrid team because of Raul, Beckham, Zidane and co., or something.

But from what I've heard, he could be a great replacement for David Beckham and Veron - and he's got great versitallity, too.
(...Although, I'd still prefer Joaquin, personally. :P )

I'd be surprised to see him instantly take a regular position in this coming-season's side, due to his age, mainly; and the fact that Kleberson surely cannot be on-his-way for a place on the bench - can he?

It'll be interesting to see how this all works-out.
Who'll go where? Will Solskjaer still be on the right-wing?
Where will Bellion and Kleberson fit into Fergie's first-team plans?

I was quite annoyed at cristiano ronaldo going to manutd although he is nowhere near as good a quaresma!

He had looked good the 3 or 4 times i had seen him, then i saw his scoring record. 3 in 25 upfront isn't overly impressive. Dunno why man utd don't go that little bit further and splash out on van der vaart, who is 20+ a season in holland and its a better league.

the problem is he didnt score as many goals as van, so fans instantly say he isnt good enough for united(he did miss a couple of sitters which could have helped his scoring). if you think he was good enough to do so. or good enough to aleast score a healthy amount, then blame ferguson. as an arsenal fan i dont really care except all this affects out rivals.

Even though I used to scream "Forlorn Forlan!" at the screen at his spurned chances, the law of averages dictates that eventually he'll convert his chances. Also, he can't be that bad if he's creating all these chances, can he?

*tries to forget his glaring miss against Juventus*

Most premiership teams had first team strikers that didn't manage to grab 9 goals last season. Yet Man Utd have a 23 year old "waste of money" that only played in about a quarter of the games and bagged himself 9 goals, almost every one of them a match winner.

I predicted before the start of last season that Forlan would make his mark, and he did. His pre-season form has also been outstanding, matching Ruud Van Nistelrooy's four goals in four USA tour games, all against high quality opposition.

Give the kid a break, he's clearly talented and did last season far more than anyone expected of him. How many goals does he have to score before he's considered a good player?
