Christiano Ronaldo that is :D in a £7.7 Million deal. This should be the perfect replacement for missing out on Ronaldinho and plus he's young too, so definitly one for the future. Can play up front, just behind Ruud or even on the right wing so he's very versatile to. Should be a good buy if Kenyon can actually close this deal instead of mucking around for 2 months.

Well seeing as the United players sung the guy's praises after the match against Lisbon then he must be a pretty decent player. I'm more inclined to take the opinions of world class football players on a players ability then some fan probably a bit annoyed he decided to sign for us instead of their team.

From what I have heard, and it is common knowlege now, Bellion and Djemba Djemba probably won't get more than 20 apps each.

Im quite Happy United have secured Ronnie's services, even though it has cost them £12.24 mil.

I watched him against us in pre season and he simply terrorised our defence.

He's very quick and creative and can play on either wing or upfront, he will certainly provide that 'little extra' that Fergie wants in Europe and at only 18 he can only get better.

Solskjaer - Bellion is touted as 'one for the future' rather than present. Even though he is older than Ronaldo, he is still 'raw talent' You can see from Ronaldo's gameplay that he has matured very early, but hopefuly Bellion learns and grows into a decent player.

I don't see what was so wrong with the leanest defence in the premiership last season.

I don't think Fergie's even after another striker, anyway.
Not while Ruud van Nistelrooy's fit and ready-to-go!

Ferguson finally appears to have realised we have problems in our defence, and he's trying to sort this all out, now. No, he hasn't signed a single "defender" besides Tim Howard, but it appears to me as if he's trying to bolster-up the midfield, first, so less pressure will be put on the backline - which has forced Barthez into so-many problems in the past.

"Defence starts in the Attack"

By building up 5 players across the midfield, the defence is fully-protected. The signings of Djemba-Djemba and Kleberson may seem a little "odd" with Roy Keane and Nicky Butt still around, but you can see Fergie is clearly trying to build up a strong midfield that works well together - without David Beckham.

And with players like Giggs, Solskjaer and Scholes (and hopefully Bellion) pushing forwards, van Nistelrooy has all the support he needs - if ever he really needs it!

The future looks very bright for us.
Still, I don't see why Veron had to go, though. This could've been "his season". We still need inspiration in our attacks - and that is why I really want to see more of David Bellion in the team.

Where was he on Sunday???

still foolish, quaresma is the boy, missed a very big chance when they stalled. Van der vaart would have been so perfect it takes the pisss, still they might sign him too!

Maybe you didn't read it right, Man Utd have had an agreement in place to buy Ronaldo for several months, which implies he's the only player from there that they wanted to begin with.

wasted money if you ask me (which you probably don't), he is a striker no doubt about it, quaresma was the right winger last season and the one man utd should signed if they want a right sider. But they hesitated...and again lost out to barcelona! Ronaldo still has bags of potential and will more tahn likely become a star, but i wouldn't put all your faith in him yet, another striker is seriously needed at old trafford and in my humble opinion at the price they paid they would have been far better off buying van der vaart.

Manchester United have completed the £12.24m signing of Portuguese teenager Cristiano Ronaldo from Sporting Lisbon.

That's a lot of money!!

Are you sure that's not the combined fee that both Ronaldo and Kleberson have cost United today, together??

£8m for Ronaldo... £5m-or-so for Kleberson... That almost makes 12.
