Solskjaer 14
And Giggs can play as a forward as well... And he scores enough as a winger...
Just look at last season - we managed to retain the league Title; got far in Europe; and got to play in a Cup Final in Cardiff - and that was with Ruud van Nistelrooy playing upfront, alone.
Just aslong as we have Ryan Giggs on the left, Solskjaer or Ronaldo on the right, and Paul Scholes down the middle - all pushing-forwards to support "Van the Man" - we should be fine -- If not even better, now that David Beckham's moved-on to give our team some more "freedom", and our defence appears to be sorting itself.
But it's when van Nistelrooy gets injured that we have a problem...
Who else can hold the line, alone, upfront, as well as him?
Then, we're only left with players like Solskjaer, Forlan, Nardiello and Bellion - players who aren't as "best-suited" to the role as the Dutchman.
United just solskjaer at the mo really, as they can't take scholes from midfield and he probably wouldn't work as the out and out striker.

Very true i totally agree with you. But that's the same for most teams. If Henry goes down for instance that's virtually all of Arsenal's goals dried up.

AS a forward he's only played one season, and got 3 in 25 so im not sure he's ready for immediate top level impact and was suggesting they may need another player, up front incase anything happens to ruud, imagine how devestating it would be if ruud picked up a 3 month injury in the first week of september, you'd be in a very precarious position.

You could do that for almost every player and position in the world. Oh why buy Kleberson when there's Zidane? Why buy Quaresma when there's Figo? The fact is you have to go with what is available and what is a sensible buy. Yes Quaresma would have been a very good buy but we missed out on him so we can't sign him now. We'd have to pay probably in excess of £15 Million for Van Der Vaart and he might not be available for our Champions League games. Fergie has made a great signing in Ronaldo in my opinion and he'll be a very good strike partner for Ruud or a good guy to play off just behind him. Makes up for the loss of Ronaldinho to me.
I don't remember suggesting anything about a right winger, you brought that up, as far as i know in the games i've seen him in he's a striker or a forward not a winger but i've only seen a handful of his games so if i'm wrong, i'm wrong and i apologise. But until he goes out on the pitch wearing the red shirt we won't know where Fergie will play him so it's all well and good presuming where he will be placed then come up with supposedly better alternatives but are they available and at a reasonable price??

no, learn to read as a whole! i said. If they wanted him a right winger they should sign Quaresma! if they wanted a forward they should have signed van der vaart! i encountered both positions he was likely to be offered and offered better available alternatives!
Now kleberson was a signing and a half! can't believe nobody signed him last summer. to me he was the star of brazils midfield at the world cup.
