Anyway, people talk about "The battle of Britian" So many times but the REAL battle of britian (I would think) Would be Rangers or Celtic Vs Man U or Arsnal, and we'd be seeing that all the time! It makes perfect sense!
Repurcussions:
The SPL is reduced to one Champions eague spot, the winning team still having to progress through the qualifiers, also one UEFA cup spot, plus possibly one extra via the Intertoto.
The current TV deals deflate in value as nobody wants to watch any of the matches.
Rangers and Celtic gather more supporters, wanting to watch the more "classy" Premiership, rather than boring, unskilled and underfunded SPL football, meaning that the remaining SPL teams have reduced income again due to fewer supporters.
The dire finances left to Scottish teams means that anything resembling a half decent player is instantly cashed in on as the vulture culture of english clubs snaps them up on what is relatively "the cheap".
The already poor scottish youth system crumbles.
The SPL crumbles
Meanwhile, english clubs have an increased number of fixtures in the season, causing earlier exits from european competition, and higher fatigue during march-may time. The best players are burned out by the time they hit 28, and any player with sense opts for the first move abroad to prolong their career with a club in a league more likely to challenge for major european honours.
Net result, UK football is screwed.

Well if they're not better than Arsenal or United they aren't the best team in Britain which was kind of my point i was arguing.

Yes, Celtic were in that competition. And got knocked out at the same time as one team called Liverpool. They're.. what? 5th best in England? And Celtic took it to them easily. And I think they *could* beat Newcastle and Chelsea. Not Man United or Arsenal, granted, but the others, yes.

When the seasons finished, let's see, Celtic were thumped by Man Utd, and luckily drew with Arsenal.
And I think only the final of the CL is played after the seasons finished, except for one or two qualifiers.
