I only got it last Thursday but I don't want to send it back if it is just a video transfer problem with all Region 2 Daredevil DVD's.
Thankyou in advance.
The quality of the first one really was shocking. It was like a VCD with slightly crisper audio. The second one had a better video transfer but the 3rd and 4th were very average.
Thats not what I am critising though, I just didn't think they were good. The 4th one really didn't fit in with the series in terms of atmosphere etc but then again Halloween Resurrection strayed away from what the original classics created.
I don't know why people think I haven't seen them, if I hadn't I would say I hadn't. I didn't like the Scientific side of them as I prefer the classic style of horror with cheap thrills. Halloween is a good example of an excellent horror film. Fairly reasonable acting, great main characters, decent plot, believable and the music is some of the most atmospheric I have ever heard.
The Hellraiser films went against all of my ideas of what made a decent horro film. The story was more complicated and harder to follow and due to the poor acting it made it difficult to see where the films were heading sometimes.
Hellraiser has so many metaphors and hidden meanings, the original and in some part the sequel are really the thinking mans Horror films. They're intelligent and leave you thinking about what just happened, well after you watch the film.
Tell me, did you watch the Cinema Club DVD versions or were they old VHS versions?
Hence the fact that I prefer the original Halloween and Night of the Living Dead. I am going to order the Evil Dead Trilogy which is out in a 4 disc special edition set today though as I have read a few opinions and it sounds quite good.
Lets not get onto 24. Every paper I look in there is someone raving about it. As one of the few people who watch it I enjoy it immensly. To be honest I think that some people like to just buck against things that are popular sometimes as I can't honestly think of a valid reason to critise it with.
Its a shame that its not very popular in the UK as people are missing out.

*sighs*
You're right about them stretching out the Hellraiser series beyond it's worth, they should have stopped at the 3rd film and it would have been perfect. I'm not gonna argue with you about the films though, if you think they're badly scripted and badly acted then that's you opinion....you're totally wrong though.
I enjoyed every single Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street film, some of them were pretty abysmal but still enjoyable at the same time. But then, I'm a massive Horror fan. I've got well over 150 Horror DVD's ranging from excellent to so bad they're good. It just depends how critical of films you are, if you've been brought up on big budget Hollywood nonsense all your life then I can understand you're not gonna enjoy a lot of the classic Horror films.
As for your 24 comments. Pfft, it tells me all I need to know if you have the ordacity to critisise the best TV show in absolutley bloody ages.
As for my taste in films. Anything that is decent I will enjoy. Hellraiser was yet another series where they hung on and then decided to hang it out to dry in the 4th. The same happened with Freddy Krueger films and the Jason Friday the 13th spin offs. Sadly they are actually fighting it out in yet ANOTHER sub par film in August where they go head to head.

Oh god, now you really just didn't say that. I'm not even gonna bother replying to this anymore, it's like your eyelids have been sewn shut and all you can see is fap fap like Dare Devil.
The fact that you posted a '24' thread as well tells me exactly what sort of films and TV you enjoy.

I can't believe you just said that. Do you actually know anything about Horror movies, or have you just not seen the films and are making things up?
Hellraiser is one of the cleverest, well scripted Horror films out there. It's an uber Horror movie, it manages to pile on the gore but still remain highly intelligent.
It may not be a by the book Horror that most people are used to, and I can understand that the violence and scenes of brutality may be a bit too much for some. But saying it's badly scripted and acted just says to me you're ever stupid or just plain ignorant.
Oh and Hellraiser : Bloodline is very much like Event Horizon, it sucks but it has similiar themes.
