We seem to be starting quite a few at the moment, so lets keep it all in one place.

This is your centre for enquiring about/recommending/talking about any albums, songs or rappers.

Enjoy.

Just downloaded "magic stick" by Lil Kim feat. 50 cent quite good as far as cheesy catchy hip-hop goes its still too hard to be classed as uk friendly.

Judging by the current beef between Ja Rule & 50 Cent I was considering getting into mixtapes, now that I've discovered where to buy them. They always seem to say the interesting stuff on the mixtapes. Although I hate 50 I might get the DJ Smallz one just because I'll be taking 50's side in his war against Murder.

Any views on Ja/50, or mixpates?

If ya like Mos Def and Sound Bombming type tunes. You may wanna check out some stuff by Skillz, Talib Kweli and Shambeem Sahdeeq.

They're not gangster rap type stuff, more intelligent and witty lyrics instead of "I smoke ya ass with my gat, biatch" type stuff.

Hopefully. I read that Rawkus were working on a 3rd Lyricist Lounge album, think it's only rumour though.

There's a few good tracks of theirs on the Soundbombing albums, number 3 is especially good. Any idea if there's a fourth on the way?

Pharoah Monche grates after a while. Don't over-listen.

Loads of good Pharoahe Monche stuff, my fav's are 'F**k you' 'Simon Says' 'My Life' 'The ass' 'official' and 'right here'.

As for Mos Def, most the stuff off the 'Black is Black' album is worth a look. Also 'B-boy Document 99' and 'Oh no' are truely excellent tracks.
